3A West Women’s Regional: West Rowan defeats A.C. Reynolds 66-54 | Box Score

The West Rowan Falcons continued their NCHSAA 3A Championship defense on Tuesday at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum as they moved past A.C. Reynolds 66-54.

The Falcons pulled in front in the second quarter after an even first and took a nine-point lead into halftime. The lead stretched to as many as 18 in the third quarter. Four different Falcons scored double figures and they were led by Tiara Thompson who had 17 and 10 boards. Emma Clark added 14 points and both Mya Edwards and Demya Phifer each had 12.

For the Rockets, Peyton Harvey had 15 points and Julie Jamnus had 12.

3A East Women’s Regional: Terry Sanford tops South Central 58-50 | Box Score

The Terry Sanford Bulldogs powered past South Central 58-50 to earn a spot in the 3A Championship Game on Friday.

The Bulldogs dominated the glass on Tuesday, outrebounding South Central 51-31 as Breonna Roaf, Rebecca Kaba and Taleah Meadows each had double-digit rebounds in the game. Roaf and Kaba both finished with double-doubles. Amaya Brown led Terry Sanford in scoring with 16 points.

For South Central, eight different players scored and Brooklynne Evans led the way with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

3A East Men’s Regional: Seventy First upends Westover 63-44 | Box Score

The Seventy-First Falcons jumped out to an early lead over Westover and earned a 63-44 win to advance to the NCHSAA 3A State Championship Game.

The Falcons were led by 25 points from Jacques Foster as he dropped 25 points including five 3-pointers. Mylan Campbell added 13 points and DeAndre Nance had 12 and 9 rebounds. For Westover, Ari Fulton had 15 points and eight rebounds and Jaeden James chipped in 10 points.

Seventy-First went 15-17 from the free throw line and made six of its 13 3-point attempts.

3A West Men’s Regional: Central Cabarrus holds off Hickory 87-78 | Box Score

In a marquee battle of unbeaten teams, Central Cabarrus earned the right to defend their 3A State Championship with an 87-78 win over Hickory.

Desmond Kent Jr. led the Vikings with 25 points and eight rebounds and Carson Daniel added add 22 points and seven boards. For the Red Tornadoes, Jay Powell had a team-high 23 points and went 6-for-9 from the 3-point line.

The Vikings led by one at the break and by seven going into the fourth quarter. Central Cabarrus outscored Hickory 23-21 in the final frame to remain unbeaten and punch their ticket to Friday’s Championship Game with Seventy-First.
