So to my understanding they have broke ground for the new Weathers Creek high on Overcash rd near Troutman. Not sure when the completed date for the new school will be. But looking forward to when it is built.

I found out that Weathers Creek high is projected to open in 2027/2028 season. Also their mascot will be the Falcons. I’m curious to see will this drop South Iredell down to 6A. With both Weathers Creek being 6A as well.

I had a conversation with a few Iredell County head football coaches recently, and they were telling me that as of this moment, there were no plans to build athletic facilities at the school due to a lack of money from the county.  I am sure this will change, but I think there are some budget issues.

We’ll wait for more information.
