Carolina Preps Mission

Carolina Preps History
Carolina Preps traces its origins back to 1997 when Chris Hughes initiated a basic prep football website named NCFootball.com as a means to explore web design. Although it garnered minimal attention, this site laid the groundwork for Hughes’s enduring commitment to North Carolina prep sports.
In 2001, a group of prep sports enthusiasts, including Hughes and other pioneering journalists, established NCHSFootball.com, which became one of the first significant high school football websites in North Carolina.
In 2007, the site was rebranded as CarolinaPreps.com, solidifying its position as a leading provider of exceptional prep sports coverage in the Carolinas. The team at Carolina Preps comprises former students, athletes, and coaches from the state, who possess firsthand knowledge of the enthusiasm surrounding prep sports and strive to deliver impartial analysis and tailored content that accurately reflects the schools and communities competing across both Carolinas.
