NCHSAA Finalizes Realignment

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) has released its finalized Realignment Plan for the 2025-2029 period.

The plan, approved late Monday evening by the NCHSAA Board of Directors, comes after reviewing final appeals from 27 member schools. This historical 8-classification system marks the first expansion of classifications since 1960, when the NCHSAA transitioned from three to four classifications.
