Farmville Central tops Goldsboro 74-54 | Box Score

Farmville Central outscored Goldsboro by 21 points in the second quarter and that proved to be the difference as they won 74-54 in the 2A East Men’s Regional Final Wednesday at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Four different Jaguars scored in double figures including Tyler Whitehurst, who had a team-high 13. J.D. Daniels added 12 points and nine rebounds while Jordan Jones and Mykal Williams had 11 and 10, respectively. For Goldsboro, Amari Latham had 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Farmville Central will make its sixth consecutive appearance in the 2A Men’s State Championship Game on Saturday.

Reidsville remains undefeated with 76-72 win against Salisbury | Box Score

The Reidsville Rams defended their 2A West Regional Championship with a 76-72 win against Salisbury on Wednesday night.

Kendre Harrison was a force in the game as he had 19 points and 19 rebounds – 11 offensive – and had two blocks and two steals. Johnniyus Sharpe had a team-high 21 points for the Rams. For Salisbury, Jayden Harris scored a game-high 30 points and Bryce Dalton added 17.

The Rams and the Jaguars will meet in the State Championship game for the second year in a row on Saturday.

East Burke holds off Lincoln Charter 48-39 | Box Score

The East Burke Cavaliers earned their first NCHSAA Women’s Basketball Championship Game appearance with a 48-39 win against Lincoln Charter on Wednesday at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Braelyn Stilwell led the Cavaliers as she dropped 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting and added four rebounds and four steals. Both Kara Brinkley, who had 10 rebounds, and Ally Moore added eight points. For Lincoln Charter, Symphani Stevens had a team-high 17 points.

Lincoln Charter took an early lead and led 11-8 after the first quarter but the Cavaliers took the lead before halftime and held off a late push to seal the win.

North Pitt rolls to Finals with 70-45 win over Seaforth | Box Score

The North Pitt Panthers saw a pair of 20-plus point performances as they beat Seaforth 70-45 in the 2A East Women’s Regional Final on Wednesday.

Zamareya Jones led the way with 29 points and nine rebounds and Jordan Speller poured in 24 points on 13 shots, had five steals and zero turnovers. The Panthers took good care of the basketball all game long as they had just six turnovers as a team.

For Seaforth, Gabrielle White posted a double-double with 30 points and 11 rebounds.
