Elkin tabs Baker to lead program

Elkin, January 11, 2023 – Elkin City Schools is thrilled to announce the appointment of Brad Baker as the new head football coach for the Elkin High School Varsity Football Team. With an impressive track record of success and a commitment to fostering both athletic excellence and character development, Coach Baker brings a wealth of experience to our football program.

Having been a high school head football coach for the past twelve years, Baker is poised to lead our student-athletes to new heights on and off the field. His passion for the game, dedication to mentorship, and strategic approach align perfectly with the values of Elkin High School.

“My wife, Leslie, and I are beyond excited to become part of the Elkin community. We are well aware of the rich football history at Elkin and welcome the opportunity to serve in a championship-caliber program. We are excited to start building relationships with the players and parents at the high school, middle school, and the Junior Elks of our youth program. We truly want to make a difference in our entire football program and community. Our goal is to help build great husbands, fathers, and men while having success in the classroom and on the field.

We both grew up in the small town of Bluefield, West Virginia and moving to Elkin feels like home. We
can’t wait to get started,” states Baker.

As we enter this exciting chapter for Elkin High School football, we invite the community to join us in welcoming Coach Baker to our Buckin’ Elk family. A meet and greet will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 4:00 pm in the high school media center. The entire Elkin High School community looks forward to an era of success, sportsmanship, and growth under Coach Baker’s leadership.
