Women’s Golf, Individual Tennis move to Championship Rounds

CHAPEL HILL — The North Carolina High School Athletic Association women’s golf regional championships concluded on Tuesday and the state championships will be held Oct. 30-31. The 1A/2A Championship will be contested at Stonebridge Golf Club in Monroe, while the 3A Championship and 4A Championship will be in the Pinehurst area at the Foxfire Resort and Pinehurst No. 6, respectively.

The following teams qualified for the state championship by finishing in the top three of their regional.
1A/2A East: 1. Clinton 2. North Moore 3. Franklin Academy
1A/2A Central: 1. East Surry 2. Union Academy 3. Gray Stone Day
1A/2A West: 1. Pine Lake Prep 2. Thomas Jefferson 3. West Lincoln
3A East: 1. South Central 2. Fike 3. Croatan
3A Central: T1. Carrboro T1. Rockingham County 3. Southern Alamance
3A West: 1. Hibriten 2. Lake Norman Charter 3. South Point
4A East: 1. Hoggard 2. Cardinal Gibbons 3. Millbrook
4A Central: 1. Jordan 2. Northwest Guilford 3. Pinecrest
4A West: 1. Myers Park 2. Marvin Ridge 3. T.C. Roberson

The top 17 individuals not on the top three teams also qualify for the state championship. If a school does not finish in the top three but qualifies at least three golfers, they will score as a team at the state championship. Full results available below:

The women’s tennis individual regional championships also concluded on Monday and the scores have been reported to the NCHSAA. All semifinalists from the regionals advance to the state championships. The championships will be hosted on Friday and Saturday, October 27-28 with play beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the following sites:
