I would have to think the Air Force Academy has got to be one of the FBS teams.

That would be correct sir. They are 4th. Falcon Stadium field elevation is 6621’ although the Academy itself is at 7258’. Downhill walk to the games & uphill walk back.😎

And since you lived in Colorado, the highest elevation is the Mountaineer Bowl at D-II Western State in Gunnison. It sits at over 7700’.

I have heard of Western State but had no idea they were the highest.

I have hiked from the Air Force Academy to Stanley Canyon which is a climb of over 3,000 ft topping out at over 10,000 feet.

And I have a minor in Geography from WCU

I didn't officially minor in anything but unofficially minored in Air Force ROTC.  That way I guaranteed employment at graduation.

Does anyone know whats the Highest Elevations in other state like TN, SC, VA and WVA??? I'm sure they have some high elevations

Without getting too in depth studying my best guess would be the top 2 in Tennessee would be Cloudland at 2600 and Johnson County at 2500, Virginia top two would be Grayson County at 2600 and Galax at 2500. Georgia I would guess would be Towns County or Rabun County in the 2000 foot range. And South Carolina would probably be Travelers Rest at around 1100. Not familiar enough with any schools in West Virginia to make a guess but I would guess somewhere in the 2500 foot range considering their mountains are not quite as high as North Carolina.

Since I had entirely too much time on my hands tonight I made out a list of the elevations of all the stadiums (not the school itself) in the mountains of WNC and most of the foothills schools rounded to the closest 100 feet to the best of my knowledge.

1.Avery 3800

2. Watauga 3200

3.  Ashe and Mitchell 3000

4. Allegheny 2900

5. Tuscola 2800

6.  Mountain Heritage and Pisgah 2600

7. Owen 2400

8. AC Reynolds, Enka, Erwin, Smoky Mountain, West Henderson, and Rosman 2200

9.  Madison, Asheville, Franklin, Hendersonville, East Henderson, North Henderson, Brevard 2100

10. Cherokee and Robbinsville 2000

11. Swain and Hayesville 1900

12. Andrews 1800

13. Murphy 1500

14.  McDowell and West Wilkes 1400

15. North Wilkes 1300

16. Wilkes Central 1200

17. East Wilkes, Hibriten, Polk 1100

18. Freedom and RS Central 1000

I'm surprised Andrews and Hayesville are higher than Murphy.

Do they field a football team/have a stadium? If so, news to me. I thought CMC was a conglomeration of several small campuses united under 1 umbrella.

So the highest I have been to is Tuscola in 2009, followed by Pisgah in 1993 and 1994, AC Reynolds for baseball in 2017, Franklin in 2011, McDowell in 1999 (Legion baseball), Wilkes Central for basketball (1996 Christmas tournament), Hibriten (2016), Freedom (1995, 1997,  2011, 2013), RS (many times), East Rutherford (many times including tonight). I guess I will count McDowell, Wilkes Central and AC Reynolds even though I was there for other sports.
