Brandon Kelley has stepped down as the head football coach at Wakefield after two seasons.  He posted a winless 0-11 record in his first season, but fielded a very solid team this year, posting a 5-7 mark and nearly defeating Fuquay-Varina in the first round of the playoffs.

I feel that this job will get a fair amount of interest and I think this has potential to be a very good job, so I think they could land a very solid head coach with experience.

I would have to think that Clayton head coach Hunter Jenks would be the top target for the school, he is an alum, lives nearby, and would be a slam dunk hire for the Wolverines.  Now will he want to leave Clayton?  Now that's a long shot, but if I'm the administration, I give him a chance to tell me no.

Some other coaches I would look at hiring:

Scott Riley - Cleveland head coach.

Mike Castellano - Former Middle Creek / Richmond head coach.

Anthony Sullivan - Former Northern Durham head coach.

Steve Burdeau - Lee County head coach.

Jeremy Fullbright - Athens Drive head coach.

Joe Kilby - Former Apex/Cedar Ridge head coach.

Ken Lathan - Carrboro head coach.

Rob Senseney - West Johnston head coach.

Jimmy Williams - Franklinton head coach.

Will Orbin - Former Holly Springs/ East Rowan coach; current Leesville Rd. assistant

Larry Dale - Granville Central head coach.

David Weathersby - Former Bunn / Bartlett-Yancey head coach.

Lamont Robinson - South Granville assistant.

Jeff Simpson - Former West Charlotte / Vance head coach.

Some Top Assistants who are ready for a head coaching shot:

Carl Smith - Rocky Mount

Justin Allred - J.H. Rose

Adam Thomas - Green Hope

Michael Vassill - Knightdale

Kendall Ray - Middle Creek

Justin Pollizi - Williams

Josh Sophia - North Rowan

Lonnie Cox - Southern Lee

Jenks did not get Rolesville. Martin Samek from Parkland is at Rolesville.

I believe the above poster meant that Jenks attended Wake Forest High School not Wakefield as a student when it was Wake Forest Rolesville High School not that he got the Rolesville job.

Understood. And yes, Jenks did attend WFR as a student, not Wakefield.
