Congratulations to Braxton Henderson (Center), Josh Hayward (DE)  and Alex Gowda (ISLB) on being selected to play for the west in the annual East/West All Star Game. Also, congratulations to my friends and fellow coaches Johnny Sowell (HC) and Joe Glass (AC) for being selected to coach in this game as well.

Glenn could you tell me how Eastern will be this year. Reidsville plays them this year, I'm interested to hear from someone.

Sure. Be glad to. We lost 25 seniors through graduation and 1 via transfer to SEG. We will be young and will not have the lineman size we have enjoyed the past 6 years since I went there with Doug Robertson. Of those 25 seniors 8 received FB scholarships. It will be difficult to replace them. We will not be able to replace Collin Smith (kicker and punter). Hopefully we will be able to replace the others. We all forget that the young JV kids and varsity reserves grow up (if they put the time in the weight room and in the speed development program) and surprise us. We do have our starting QB, RB/ISLB, OT, OSLB/WR  for 2 more years. Plus we may get a few move ins and transfers that fit right into our program. I am glad we are playing Reidsville because we always have 7 on 7's and scrimmages with them. Our coaches are friends with their coaches  as well.  Thanks for asking.

Reidsville returns a lot. I think Eastern will be solid from what you told me. Looking forward to the game.

Replacing  18 starters will be difficult. The success will depend on how well those new 18 players fill the void. There are several huge voids in this group of graduating seniors. Some big shoes to fill.
