  1. https://www.highschoolot.com/nchsaa...s3ORjHIliSoRZ8Cobs4WZuPE2K-GOg9uQYs3RAVe87_NA The next realignment process has been delayed a year. The new conferences will still go into effect in the 2021-2022 school year, this just eliminates the “lame duck year.” I like this because enrollment fluctuates and a school may be 3A size when the realignment figures come out, however when the new conferences actually start 2 years later, enrollment may have dropped to 2A size and they are stuck in 3A for at least 2 years...usually 4. Case in point...Burns...thankfully we were able to move down this year but I digress. Now this might just be a one off...because they are looking to add 5A. They basically already have...but are just calling it “4AA” for now. They have to change the bylaws. But sounds like it’s gonna happen. Just not sure how the classifications are gonna be divided up, or how the playoffs are going to work yet. Should be interesting. The football coaches and AD’s are just going to have to hit the ground running on the scheduling for 2021 and 2022 because of the process being postponed. That’s the only downside to this.

  5. We now know who will be changing classifications...so now you can tweak your projections...as you were a little off on the dividing lines.. But not much. http://www.nchsaa.org/sites/default/files/attachments/17-21RealignmentClassifications_11-13-15.pdf I'll start with adding Cramer to yours (and mine) proposed conference with Burns, Crest, KM, Ashbrook, Hunter Huss, Forestview and North Gaston as they are moving up to 3A. 8 is a perfect number for a conference. I also suggest you add Hickory to the league with Freedom, St. Stephens, McDowell, South Caldwell and Watauga. They end up being the lowest 3A school.

  7. I am making my projected conferences. This is a working prediction that could change. I am not sound on the western part of the state when it comes to natural rivals, distance between schools etc. I used current conference configurations to make my best estimated guesses. I tried to stay between 6-8 in conferences but i did make 1 9 team conferences. I aIso made a 5 team conference with some of the outer banks schools. My thoughts on that are they play each other twice (8 conference games) which would keep drive times more reasonable I also tried to stay away from split conferences but still had to make more than I wanted just to keep drive times down for some schools. Let me know what you think. I will be making a 2a one later this week. Conference #1 Edenton Holmes, Plymouth, Camden, Gates, Perquimans, Riverside, South Creek Conference #2 (5 teams) Manteo, Cape Hatteras, Mattamuskett, Columbia, Creswell Conference #3 Northhampton, Northwest Halifax, Rocky Mount Prep, Tarboro, North Edgecombe, Southeast Halifax, Kipp, Weldon Conference #4 East Carteret, Jones, Lejune, Southside, Northside, Pamlico Conference #5 Union, Pender, East Bladen, East Columbus, West Columbus, South Roberson Conference #6 Albemarle, West Montgomery, South Stanly, Chatham Central, North Moore, North Stanly, South Davidson, Union Acadamy, North Rowan Conference #7 Alleghany, East Surry, Mt. I could easily see them leaving just one split conf in wnc you figure McDowell will have to go elsewhere and west and north hendo could join the MAC to form an all 3A then your left with some combo of 2A to fill out the WNCAC and the rest in a split conference in the WHC leaving the SMC unchanged any thoughts?
  9. With all the hullabaloo about ridding the state of split conferences and limiting travel and what not I have come up with a way to solve this. The NCHSAA needs to do away with conferencres altogether and set up a district and region system. We could do it this way. Let every team play 5 games against any team they choose regardless of size. This would function as the "non-conference" portion of the schedule and only be used in qualifying for the playoffs as a tie breaker. Every team then would play 6 games with in their district against teams that are within 20% of their population. For example if a school has 1000 ADM then it could play teams no smaller than 800 or larger than 1200. This would create "conference" games and be used to determine who qualifies for the playoffs. These teams would be seeded 1-16 and the playoffs move forward just like now. This change would get rid of split conference and give teams a little more control in who they play and keep a measure of competitive balance. This would work well for 2A through 4A due to the size range in thoses classes. It would be tough for Eastern 1A due to the extreme small ADM of those schools, but exceptions could be made for them Developing the regions and districts could be done based on hard and fast North to South longitudes. We could set up two districts per each region. This system would allow teams to keep traditional rivalry games and schedule new and exciting match ups. I think we can all agree that conferences get a little stale at times and it would be nice to see new teams. Let's hear it guys, why do you think.
  10. i know there is alot going on maybe when it dies down a little could you get a 25-25 25-25 breakdown on how it would look if going on old realignment rules.thanks
