  1. This article feeds into what I have said for a long time when it comes to my feelings about these so called recruiting experts putting stars on HS players. https://www.wltx.com/article/sports/james-radio-kennedy-dies/101-c2aa23c8-c0d6-4fe1-a6b5-fee0f9afca0c
  2. How much does the high school an athlete attends factor into how they get recruited? (More for the non 5 star kids)

  4. Charlotte Catholic JR LB Liam Barbee is something special. Below I will post links to his full season highlight from last year and links to his individual highlights from this year. Kid can flat out play. At 6'1" and around 210-215 kid can fly and has a legit shot if he stays healthy to leave as Catholic's all time leading tackler. Against Archbishop Rummel Barbee recorded 23 tackles, a forced fumble and an interception. He has a shot to be a 150+ tackle guy with 41 already in just three games. A college is going to get him and be very very happy. http://www.hudl.com/video/3/9926467/5bbf4013664b8e0e9c93dfe0 (Sophomore season) http://www.hudl.com/v/2BfgL8 (Archbiship Rummel) http://www.hudl.com/v/2BfYMn (Good Counsel)

  7. So I heard it 3 weeks ago from a media personality and I sort of laughed. Heard it again last night from Mr. Hughes. What criteria are we using and I am looking for more than how tall he is and stats against JV teams. Thoughts?
  8. Since we have a topic on who is the best QB in N.C. Who is the best RB in N.C.
  9. Clayton's standout wide receiver Devin Carter has received another Division 1 offer. The upcoming senior announced via Twitter that he has received a scholarship offer from NC State. This is Carter's fourth scholarship offer from a Division 1 school. The other three schools that have offered him a scholarship are Elon, Michigan State, and Minnesota. Carter has also gained interest from Duke, UNC, Wake Forest, and Old Dominion. What other schools do y'all think Devin Carter will gain interest from?
  10. This Saturday should be the biggest Shrine Bowl Combine of the year at A.C. Reynolds HS in Asheville. There really hasn't been a lot of "major star players" attend the previous three combines, but from chatter among coaches, I think you'll see a lot of the studs attend this one. It's always been one of the most attended combines for the Shrine Bowl. If you have the chance, I would ride up to ACR and check it out, if for no other reason, just to see their gym, stadium, and other facilities up close, they're second to none. Registration for kickers begins at 9:30, registration for all other positional players begins at 10 a.m. This is a great experience for kids, even those that don't make the cut, at least they get to compete against some of the best players and really see where they stand. Cost is $20, a shirt is included. Note to players: You need to bring gym shoes and cleats, you will do your shuttle runs on a slippery gym floor. They've also replaced the vertical jump with the standing broad jump.
  11. I thought he was playing at Mountain Island Charter or East Gaston? He recently decommitted from Syracuse.

  14. Moe Neal picked up another offer today from Wake Forest University. He now has scholarship offers from Wake, Boston College, Syracuse, Mississippi State , Akron, and UNC Charlotte. I do feel Forestview is one of the teams to watch this year in the 3AA.

  16. Charlotte Observer announces today that Concord-based state legislator Fletcher Hartsell is part of a group of politicians that introduced a bill that would allow youngsters to attend any NC public school they want. People, we need to get out and vote in the primary and the general elections this fall. This crowd we have in Raleigh now seems to be doing everything they can to undermine public education. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2014/04/30/4876367/nc-bill-would-let-students-attend.html#.U2LoJFdM7q1
