  2. The Battle of the 0-4 teams?? Who will get the first win of the season? I think North Lincoln wins this one bc of their size but idk much bout what they have. North Iredell: They gotta get consistent on offense and limit turnovers. Defense has to tackle better and They gotta be able to stop teams having long drives. What are your thoughts and Opinions?
  3. This game game could get Ugly and This is West Iredell's Homecoming! For LKN: They are a Dual Threat with passing and running. They are very good team and I think key is here is No Injuries and Make sure u keep up what u have been doing and No Turnsovers and Penalties! For West Iredell: They maybe able keep it close for a Qtr or 2 but I think LKN runs away with it. WI has to stay Consistent on Offense and Don't do nothing flashy but they have to Get run game going to help with the passing. Defense has to step up and I fully believe since your in conference WI coaching staff will Sub in n Sub out players to help keep players healthy and Give them a rest. My score Prediction: LKN 45 WI 14 What's your thoughts/Opinions?
  4. Coaches, fans and forum followers, The work on Friday Night Football N.C. Magazine’s annual season preview edition continues. We publish the preview this summer - every high school will receive one and others may be purchased online and at various news stands. With a summer publication date, the pressure is on to complete team capsules and other stories very soon. I’m working on the “West,” “Midwest” and “Charlotte” regions and am lacking about 70 teams. I’ll keep making calls and sending emails directly to the schools, but any assistance you can provide by completing the online survey at www.fnfsurvey.com will be a great help. The teams I haven’t heard from or talked to follow. I know some of these are on the coach’s moving van, but any insight into the teams and returning athletes that can be provided by a coach or AD will help us produce a more complete preview. Midwest Alexander Central, Ashbrook, Bandys, Fred T. Foard, Hickory, Carson, Kings Mountain, Newton-Conover, North Iredell, North Rowan, North Wilkes, South Caldwell, South Iredell, Statesville, Watauga, West Iredell, West Wilkes. West Andrews, Asheville School, Cherokee, Christ School, Erwin, Enka, Hayesville, Hendersonville, Madison, McDowell, Murphy, North Henderson, Pisgah, Polk County, Robbinsville, Rosman, Smoky Mountain, Swain County, T.C. Roberson, Thomas Jefferson Academy, Tuscola, Victory Christian Center. Charlotte Albemarle, Ardrey Kell, Berry Academy, Bessemer City, Butler, Cannon School, Cherryville, Community School of Davidson, Concord First Assembly, Concord Senior High, East Lincoln, Forest Hills, Garinger, Harding, Hickory Ridge, Highland School of Technology, Hopewell, Independence, Jay M. Robinson, Monroe, Mooresville, Myers Park, North Mecklenburg, North Stanly, NW Cabarrus, Pine Lake Prep, Porter Ridge, Providence Day School, South Mecklenburg, Southlake Christian, Vance, West Charlotte, West Montgomery. Obviously, there are a lot of other teams across the state that will be profiled, and my colleagues at FNF N.C. Magazine will appreciate your assistance as well. Feel free to email me if you would like to share convenient time to call and discuss, mdwillardmd@yahoo.com. Thank you for any help you can provide. Michael Willard FNF N.C. Magazine

  6. South Iredell (3A) is looking for two games (Week-1 and Week-6) for the 2017-18 season. Contact head football coach Scott Miller at srmiller@iss.k12.nc.us.
  7. Statesville will travel to South Iredell for the last game of the regular season. Could a Statesville win give Statesville a better seed? I am aware that South will be favored. I believe this game will come down to who wants it most. I know Scott Miller defense strategy is to key and spy on Ramesur. Keys to the game for Statesville. The passing game was almost perfect in the Alexander Central game. That should build some confidence going into the South game. For the Statesville defense have to contain Brady Pope. He will probably be South Iredell all time leading passer by the end of his Senior year. The Hounds will click on all cylinders and no stupid penalties. Any thoughts
  8. Didn't see a thread started so I'll start one. Terrible match up for North. I predict the same as the last 2 weeks, Raiders in over their head. Good Luck to Coach Grinton and staff preparing this week. Hope everybody on both teams stay healthy.
  9. Congratulations, Statesville on the win. Ramesur and big night including a kick off return for a Touchdown. The Hounds had too much speed for Alexander Central. Offenses played well and wr step it up and didnt drop any passes. And Statesville didn't get a lot of penalties. That was the best officiating game i have ever witness for Statesville. I do wish the Godfrey kid for Alexander Central a fast and speedy recovery. That kid had a good first half. Let's get ready for South Iredell next week.
  10. Betting on a quick second half is all I know. Seems like on paper, (haven't seen South) another mismatch. Don't see any way North keeps this one close based on what I've watched and word of mouth from South this year. North Lincoln and LN both set new school records for pts in a game this year at North. What is the SI record?? Could be in jeopardy Friday night.
  11. Well through two weeks, hasnt been the strongest of starts... Compiling a 6-8 start as a conference. To this point, i believe South Iredell has been the most impressive so far. Really gave Reagan a good game for some time, and then demolished Hickory. Statesville has only played one game, beating Hickory.. So not much to go on there yet. Lake Norman has been more impressive than I honestly expected. Mooresville has been pretty solid on defense, but the offense has underachieved to this point. I think theres a rather large gap between thise 4 and NO, WI, NL, and AC. After 2 weeks- heres how i would rank the conference: 1- South Iredell 2a- Statesville 2b- Mooresville 4- Lake Norman 5- North Iredell 6- Alexander Central 7- North Lincoln 8- West Iredell This weeks games: Hopewell at Mooresville Hough at Lake Norman West Stokes at North Iredell North Lincoln at East Lincoln South Caldwell at Alexander Central W Iredell at Stuart Cramer North Rowan at Statesville South Iredell on BYE
  12. South Iredell's defense stymied Hickory at every turn. A blocked punt on the first possession set the tone as South quickly capitalized by scoring a few plays later. Hickory had few first downs and only scored late in the game when South made numerous defensive substitutions. Hickory got very little on the ground, and the only bright spot on offense involved a few pass plays for nice gains. South's offensive play calling showed much more variety than in the loss to Reagan. Brady Pope, the Sophomore quarterback had (I believe) 3 pass TDs against only 1 interception. However, the run game, absent last week, was very successful behind the running of Ty Hallman and Daquon Campbell. The offensive line provided more protection this week, giving Pope sufficient pass protection (on most plays) and giving the backs decent holes. South needs to work on sloppiness, though. South had 3 turnovers (1 interception and 2 fumbles) and had far more penalties than Coach Miller would want to see. Overall, South looked much better than last week. There is still room for improvement, but I saw quite a bit of progress.
  13. Raiders rebound in a big way. Kadree Cambell and Marquise Dukes still leading the way. QB Falls was injured in the second half but still played defense, just I guess had a problem with the throwing hand. Raiders I thought showed GREAT improvement in the kicking game. Kudos to the coaches for getting that fixed. Had they been that consistent on XPs vs Wilkes they would be 2-0. Still miss to many tackles but hopefully working on that weekly. Big INT by Tate Jones. More impressed with Campbell every time I see him.. That kid is explosive and just getting started. Good win for the Raiders, next up West Stokes at Raider Ravine.
