  2. Concord Cannon will have a 7 foot rising sophomore Christian Reeves. It will be interesting to see how this player and team will perform in the upcoming basketball season.
  3. Haven’t heard anything concerning Davidson Day since they had a football team. I see they are 16-1 with the boys team. Anyone might know anything about this team and what potentials of winning a title. A team to keep an eye on.
  4. I have to admit I’m more into football than basketball but I still like to go and watch some basketball games. My topic is who is your favorite basketball team that you watch over the years. I probably could list several but I will list my school I went to and that is South Iredell. Going back around 1978 South boys had what I think the most fun team to watch. These guys played together since they were young. Those days watching dunks was my favorites. Chris Campbell sticks out with 6’ 4” height and could leap like anyone I’ve ever seen. He has a brother ( Jack Campbell) who played earlier and was in the class of 1976. This of course was before my time he played. But Jack Campbell had scored 1702 points and had 1014 rebounds. He would go onto play for Belmont Abbey college. There were some years that I didn’t make it to some basketball games and I’m sure I’ve missed out on watching some good teams. So who would be your most favorite basketball team that would stick out the most.
  5. This may come down to different opinions. But who would you say is the best HS basketball team ever from past to present in N.C. Boys and also girls as well. As for myself I have no idea.
  6. 1st game I’ve had a chance to make for this season. Between work and other things going on I just haven’t had a chance to go. Anyway I was able to get in on the 2nd half of the boys JV game. With the girls game Lake Norman won 55-34. LN had a comfortable lead but got cold before HT. But second half they would open it up for a big win. Giving the LN girls 11-0 Record I believe. As for the boys game Mooresville gave LN all they wanted the 1st half and I actually thought Mooresville may pull this one out. LN led at half with a close lead. Anyway I bought my 1st ever 1/2 n 1/2 ticket at a basketball game. Closet I’ve ever come to winning a 1/2 n 1/2. My number was 8668834. When they called out the numbers I thought I may have a chance to win this one until the last 2 numbers were called. Here is the winning #. 8668842. The winner would take home a big $59. Lol. Not quite the Tuscola n Pisgah 1/2 n 1/2 money. Lol. Anyway 2nd half Mooresville would get ice cold and the big hurt was LN 3 point shots. LN would win this one 74-51. LN won all the 4 games.
  7. Basketball is around the corner and I’m looking forward to another season. What teams will be at the top. l would like to see some good basketball this year. Who will be the big dogs this year. This is also for the girls teams as well.
  8. 1. Robbinsville 2. Swain 3. Cherokee 4. Rosman 5. Hayesville 6. Andrews 7. Murphy Swain beat Rosman easily Robbinsville beat Hayesville easily Thats all the conference matches I know of so far.
  9. Tonight marked the debut of both of the new Patriot head coaches. I'm happy to report that both emerged victorious. The PG girls won 54-34 while the PG boys survived 53-50. I'll add more tomorrow......
  10. Interesting to see these two teams already matching up. I just have no clue at what each team has. With the game being Friday I want be making this one. Friday night football is still on my agenda. Best of Luck to the Vikings of South Iredell for the season.
  11. North Rowan High School is looking for some Summer Basketball Jamborees where we can get good competition. Camp is too expensive, but we would like to find some good one day competitions. If anyone has one (or more) that you can recommend, then please let us know. We are also looking for an old rebound machine....Mccalls Rebounder. Somebody has one sitting around collecting dust and we will be happy to take it off of your hands. Even if it isn't working, then maybe we can get it repaired. Let me know.
