  1. Out of curiosity does anyone know if Dutch Fork have a N.C. team lined up to play next year. Just wandering.
  2. The one thing that SC has been doing that NC needs to do is realign every two years. How the folks in SC are doing things do seem interesting, especially establishing 1A and 5A first, then setting up the other classifications. SC realignment parameters SC 2020-2022 realignment
  3. Matchups you like to see next season N.C. vs S.C. I’m sure some would say Vance vs Dutch Fork, or another Mallard Creek vs Dutch Fork. But who would be your matchup.
  4. I was able to tour the new Spartanburg HS stadium & athletic facilites. The stadium seats 8,500, has a 3-story press box, and has two field houses and a huge jumbotron. The gym seats 2,500 with two video boards. The school cost $134 million and was paid for with a penny tax referendum. https://carolinapreps.com/2019/12/19/touring-the-new-spartanburg-athletic-facilities/
  5. Maybe Chris can shed some light on this but why hasn’t Knotts climbed to the college ranks yet, he’s been successful at multiple HS programs and clearly has the winning formula!
  6. Big showdown this Saturday at 12 noon on Dec. 7 at Williams-Brice Stadium. Dutch Fork is on a conquest looking for to winning 4 5A State titles in a row but can Dorman spoil their chances. This should be an awesome game between the 2.
  7. Keeping up with this 5A bracket in S.C. This is the 3rd rd of the S.C. 5A class. Here is where it starts getting interesting. Gaffney at Byrnes and Dorman at Clover will be huge games for sure. Looks like Dutch Fork has some good competition on hand. Upper Bracket 9-3 Gaffney at 11-1 Byrnes 12-0 Dorman at 12-0 Clover Lower Bracket 11-0-1 Dutch Fork at 11-0 Fort Dorchester 9-2 Goose Creek at 11-1 Carolina Forest
  8. Dutch Fork, Carolina Forest, Camden, and Green Sea Floyds are all playing in the SC state semi finals this weekend! All are led by former coaches from NC. TK has been doing his thing for years down there. Now Coach K won a state title last year. And this year Marc Morris and Brian Rimpf have their teams in the Semi Finals. Great job by these coaches! We see where all the coaching talent really is! Here's a link to the interview with Coach Rimpf and Camden's return to the Semi Finals for the first time since 2002! https://www.thestate.com/sports/high-school/prep-football/article237748749.html?fbclid=IwAR3jpwUBXuYxiz09fTvt3Mxis5f8rfTqkLHuhmMqO82ievdd2xjIGbUIQBY

  11. Looks like Dutch Fork and Byrnes is shaping up a classic should they meet in the 5A playoffs. If this does happen I can imagine the hype that would be with this game. As of recent South Carolina polls 5-0-1 Dutch Fork is 1 and 5-0 Byrnes is 2 in the 5A class. Here are the results for both teams so far 5-0-1 Dutch Fork DF 27 Mallard Creek 27 DF 49 Spring Valley 0 DF 47 Irmo 7 DF 50 Boiling Springs 6 DF 49 Northwestern 0 5-0 Byrnes Byrnes 33 Greer 8 Byrnes 40 Northwestern 0 Byrnes 44 Hough 7 Byrnes 41 Spartanburg 3 Byrnes 57 Gaffney 30. Will have to an eye on these two teams. Should it come down to these teams in the playoffs I think we will see a classic.
  12. Congrats to former Ragsdale head coach Tommy Norwood who guided St. James to a 10-7 victory over Conway. I know many of you may not follow S.C. high school football, but this is a HUGE WIN for St. James and for that program. Conway has slowly started to fall off the map in South Carolina after once being a dominant 4A program. If you didn't know, South Carolina schools are much less forgiving for down years than those here in the Tar Heel State. I would not be shocked if the locals aren't already calling for head coach Carlton Terry to be forced out. You know that Conway fans would want their favorite son, former quarterback and Myrtle Beach head coach Mickey Wilson to take over, but I can't see it happening. I would however be calling Green Sea-Floyd head coach Donnie Kiefer in a hot minute, or hell, why not Tommy Norwood?
  13. 7-0 Byrnes will play 7-0 Dorman. Common opponents. Byrnes beat Gaffney 57-30 and Dorman beat Gaffney 34-10. Should be a good one. Still keeping eye on Dutch Fork and Byrnes as both teams are still undefeated.
  14. Dutch Fork is now 2-0-1. Since the Mallard Cr game they have won over Spring Valley 49-0 and won over Irmo 47-7. Last year DF defeated Spring Valley 63-0 and Irmo 58-0. Interesting to see if DF can pull out another 5A title.
  15. Another fun NC/SC matchup.....Byrnes looks real good and based on a couple conversations yesterday with friends in Greenville this might be their best team in a long time. Is Hough ready for this kind of matchup?
  16. #1 Mallard Creek visits #1 Dutch Fork GAME TIME: This game is a 6:00 p.m. kickoff. This is obviously the biggest game, probably not just of the week, but of the season, and with the added hype of this being a nationally televised contest, and paired with the anticipation that lingers from these two powers not squaring off last year (due to weather), I think this has all the makings of being an instant classic, and hopefully it's a game that we talk about for years, and possibly decades to come. I think both of these programs have their best teams in recent memory coming back, and hopefully they'll both be at full power and healthy for Friday's matchup. COACHING MATCHUP: Tom Knotts is in his 10th season leading Dutch Fork and has a 407-76 record. Mike Palmieri is in his 13th season at Mallard Creek and owns a 129-33 record. LOCATION: The game is going to be played at Dutch Fork HS, this is a great stadium with ample seating to accommodate this crowd, but I still suggest getting there early because of parking.
  17. They performed against Scotland High School. Will they have another great season?
