Stadium Tour: Person High School

ROXBORO – Now in the 13th year of touring around the state of North Carolina taking photos of football stadiums and school athletic facilities, I’ve seen every high school stadium at least once, but one thing that makes me really happy is when I return to a stadium many years later and see that a school has invested a lot of time, money, and energy into improving their facilities, and making them better for their students and community.

When I last visited Rocket Stadium at Person High in 2011, I came away feeling that the stadium was just an average high school stadium, but now, following some changes in the schools administration, I leave thoroughly impressed with the direction of the school and athletic department as a whole.  The facility is now beaming with very high quality signage all over, and has a lot of character and blue paint to let visiting fans know that they’re at Rocket territory.

Not only was the football stadium looking terrific, but all of the schools athletic facilities was looking amazing, and ready for the upcoming school year, so I’ll stand up and applaud athletic director Jeremy Clayton, new head football coach Joseph Carroll,  and all of the schools leadership for their hard work.
