David Diamont takes over at South Stokes

WALNUT COVE – It only took one season away from the sidelines for legendary coach David Diamont to find a new home.   The longtime East Surry coach who has a 291-153 record will be the new head coach at South Stokes following Mike Holmes departure to take a coaching job in Colorado.

With only nine wins left to reach the 300-win pinnacle, fans in the area will be anxiously watching how quickly he turns the Saura program around.  South won two games in 2018 and five games in 2017, and you’d have to go back to 2012 for the last time they posted a winning record.
