Tuscola appeal denied by NCHSAA membership

CHAPEL HILL – The NCHSAA decision that denied Tuscola High School’s appeal to drop from the 3A classification down to the 2A classification was upheld today in a vote by member schools in attendance at the association’s annual meetings.  A two-thirds majority was needed by Tuscola to win their appeal but they only received 44 of the 110 ballots that were submitted.

The Mountaineers, who had 974 students when the 2018 ADM’s were released and now has roughly 950 students enrolled at the school will remain in the 3A Western Mountain Athletic Conference through the 2020 season.
