The HSFB Clinic Season is ready to kickoff – Top Coaches headed to New Bern this weekend

DoubleTree-NewBern

Got any weekend plans? While many of you will be sitting back, relaxing, drinking a hot cup of coffee and enjoying the winter months, high school football coaches will be starting their near year-long grind of constantly improving their craft, and learning new methods and approaches to give young football players the best coaching possible.

Now that January has rolled around, we’ve begun the clinic and professional development phase of the year that many coaches involve themselves into to prepare for the upcoming season.

This weekend’s Eastern North Carolina Football Coaches Association Clinic in New Bern will be among the top clinics of the entire offseason, and clinic director Caleb King, the head football coach at East Carteret High School has put together a dynamite lineup of speakers.

The keynote speaker will be Henry Trevathan, Jr., the Director of High School Relations at N.C. State University. He will be lecturing on “Building relationships to help get your players recruited.”

The event will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton on the New Bern Riverfont.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning and the clinic will start at 10 a.m. and run through 7 p.m.

Registration will be $40 for non-members, $30 for a membership and the clinic fee, and $20 for members.

Clinic Lineup:

Henry Trevathan, Jr. – Director of High School Relations – N.C. State University

Chris Scott – Head Football Coach at Ocean Lakes, VA – “Dolphin Football”

Richard Bailey – Head Football Coach at Scotland County – “Building a Program: Blueprint for Success”

Brian Hales – Head Football Coach at Matthews Butler – “Efficent Offensive Game Planning”

Tripp Stone – Defensive Coordinator at Charlotte Mallard Creek – “Maverick Defense”

Paul Hoggard – Head Football Coach at Edenton Holmes – “Pearls of OL Play”

Donnie Kiefer – Head Football Coach at Central Cabarrus – “A Comprehensive Yearly Plan for HS Strength & Speed Development”

JP Price – Offensive Coordinator at Wallace-Rose Hill – “Speed Sweep Series * Complimentary Plays”

Nick Eddins – Head Football Coach at West Montgomery – “Jet Sweep Power Series”

Nate Connor – Head Football Coach at Greenville Conley – “Building off Wing-T Principles from the Gun”

Joe Nixon – Head Football Coach at West Rowan – “OL Play”

Todd Lipe – Defensive Coordinator at Ayden-Grifton – “Defending the Spread”

Again I can’t stress it enough, this is one helluva a lineup and a great opportunity for head coaches and assistant coaches alike to come out, learn some football, and most important, build relationships and networks with your fellow coaches and further develop your for philosophies for a winning program, or help build your networks that will allow your players to move on to the next levels.
