Summer Tour: Mark Holcomb and staff building Oak Grove from ground up

MIDWAY - For 13 seasons Mark Holcomb was the leader of the very successful program at North Davidson High School where he posted a 115-51 record and only once had a sub .500 season.  Over that time he developed a lot of players and sent many off to colleges to continue their careers, and he also developed young coaches into successful veteran coaches, one of which took over the program at North.

Now he'll have his greatest challenge while at the same time, his greatest opportunity.  Back in the spring he was announced as the new head football coach at Oak Grove, a brand new high school in the neighboring Midway community that is just minutes away from North Davidson.

He's brought many familiar faces from his coaching staffs at North to help build this new Grizzlies program from the ground up.  While they will not compete in any varsity games for the 2017 season, they'll play a complete JV schedule and prepare for competition next year in the Central Carolina 2A Conference.
