Shelby and Wallace-Rose Hill go wire-to-wire as final CP Power Rankings are released.

The final – Dynamic Fitness North Carolina High School Football Power Rankings for the 2016 season have been released and we’ve seen two teams go wire-to-wire as the undisputed top teams in their respective classifications. 

Both Shelby and Wallace-Rose Hill were ranked atop the state when the preseason rankings were released and remain there as the year-end champions as well.

In the 4A classification, it took all season long for Wake Forest to reach the top spot but after their decisive 29-0 victory over Greensboro Page, the Cougars found themselves in the top spot but narrowly over the 4A champions, Greensboro Dudley.

South Point narrowly edged out Weddington for the overall top spot in the 3A rankings.  Both teams flexed their muscles as the season wound down but the ferocious Red Raiders defense tipped the scales in their favor.

Shelby was the most dominant team from start to finish in the 2A classification and for the fourth consecutive year finished atop the rankings, but it wasn’t without some consideration for Reidsville who also finished with a perfect 16-0 record and was equally as dominant in claiming their 16th state championship.

For the third consecutive year Wallace-Rose Hill claimed the state championship and also the top spot in the Carolina Preps rankings.  The Bulldogs were atop the standings in August and remained there till the end finishing with a 15-1 mark on the year.
