Its about that time guys, so lets get it started!
another chapter will soon unfold in this annual rivalry. Last year was a big moment for mooresville, winning an exciting 21-14 come from behind game. Not just because it ended "the streak", but because it ended our losing streak vs west. mooresville looks to.be a young, real young, but talented team this year. Im not too sure about west this year...other than they have line size. Can mooresville get a win in falcon territory (been a long time)? Can west rowan get revenge for last year? what are youre thoughts on this one? Get there early folks...this will be a good one |

Mooresville should beat West Rowan. 21 to 14, Moorseville.

Looks like last years score. It could happen. It could be reversed, they do play at West this year.
Both of these teams will be pretty green for this early season match up. Although both teams are well coached, IMO the early season match up favored Mooresville last year. All teams improve as the season moves to the playoffs but the rate at which they improve varies. If they had met later in the season last year, the out come would have been much different. Just look at the offensive power house common opponent they had. West had a very green D when they faced the Blue Devils last year but that was not the case when they faced Burns. Much of that Falcon defense returns this year. Will the young Blue Devil offense be able to move the ball against the Falcon D? West Rowan won't be shining on offense either in that they will be breaking in a new QB. Their running game should be strong enough to put some points on the board though. The Falcons will prevail this time. West Rowan 20 Mooresville 7 |

I tend to lean with Mooresville in this one. I'm having faith in that offense they are going to be running this season. Defensively I think is going to be the big question in that first game with West. We will see how it plays out, but at this point.. I think it's another one score win for the devils. I'm thinking 24-17 or 28-21. Either way, it will be a great game and I'm excited to see WR and get the season started! |

Honestly, I truly don't know what to expect. West is breaking in a new QB, but our running game is going to be solid and defense as usual should be stout. Last year we struggled in the secondary with some inexperience, but returning starters like Zeke Blackwood, Harvey Landy and Najee Tucker should be a big boost.
Last year's game was definitely no fluke, but it was a perfect storm for Mooresville. If West, and a big if, gets consistent QB play, then West could make another run at a state title. But that of course is a big if. Not quite ready to make a prediction with this game. I'll wait until game week next week to do that. |

I know this season Mooresville offensively should be ok. They have a stud at RB with Manny.. and Joe got some good experience at QB playing in the semi-final game against PR... and almost pulling off that victory. Then thrown in a good receiving corps with Dre and Co. Offensive line leaves me wondering a little, but there is some good size there.
Defense remains to be seen. A lack of good size may become an issue. |

Can't wait to watch this game....should be a good one.Everyone expecting the Falcons to fall off but not I. With the offensive line and the potentially dominating defense and not to mention Des Jackson running the rock, the Falcons will be good. You've got to respect Scott Youngs program. No disrespect to Mooresville, I'll take WR 24-14. Defense scores at least one td in this one for the Falcons. Looking forward to song this one in person.

I hope Mr. Jackson has matured during his time off, and he is not the only weapon the Falcons have in the backfield. Don't forget Daisean Reddick.

Reddick will not play the first 2 games. Jackson is questionable, but could if needed.

Well no wonder we weren't following you - that was last year and I'm pretty certain #10 was a senior. I remember him our D kept overshooting their tackles on him.

Any of the Falcon faithful know when and where I can pick up my reserved seats? I got a call about a month ago to confirm that I was keeping them and she said she would call back to let me know when they were available but I haven't heard anything yet.

The QB (#10) was a senior last year. Along with most of Mooresville team. Although I don't take too much out of that considering that any Hal Capps coached team is highly dangerous.

@winsel... Our offense has the potential to be more potent.this year... But were real young (I think were starting like 9 sophomores
But this might be the first time ive gone into this game no knowing what to expect from either team. If I was to pick a team to win, id pick west because of your lines and experience... But I wouldnt bet money on that. |

That O-line for Mooresville will need to shape up before Friday. Big time. Any West faithful coming out for the JV game?

It's game week and the general consensus is that we don't have a consensus of how this game is going to turn out. Lots of question marks with both teams. West seems to have the upper hand on the lines, but Mooresville has the upper hand on offense.
If I had to give an uneducated guess right now, I'd say maybe West in a close one being at home. But, Mooresville could easily win this game. Spread is probably no more than 1.5 if I had to guess. Expect a large crowd, great atmosphere, should be fun. |

Most folks that attended the game last season know what the outcome was. Well, here we are a year later and about to do it all again. I can tell you that the kids who were on the sideline last season at Mooresville, have not forgotten what that felt like and have been tasting it for a year. They want to get rid of that taste on Friday night and have been working real hard to get rid of it. No matter what happens at the end of the 4th on Friday night, these kids will have given 110% and left it all on the field. They want this win, they know what's in front of them, they are ready for it.
I hope the fans are ready for it on Friday night in Mt. Ulla cause it is going to be a real good one at Falcon stadium and if you don't attend.................You will have missed a great game! The 2012 Season begins............................. |

A recap of the series up to this year:
Mooresville has won 22 times and West has won 20. Tonight will be the 43 meeting between the schools. For West they have played only two teams more times (East and North). Next week they will play Davie for the 43 time also. The past ten years have been bookended by Mooresville wins but West has dominated the series over the time span. 2011 Mooresville 21-14 2010 West 32-0 2009 West 49-9 2008 West 33-6 2007 West 19-13 2006 West 17-0 2005 West 23-0 2004 West 43-14 2003 West 21-13 2002 Mooresville 35-0 For two schools only 14.2 miles apart tonight the rivalry has developed into quite a good on over the years. The crowds are always large and usually the games are close.
