RANDLEMANN HIGH SCHOOL GAINS NATIONAL RECOGNITION ANDJOINS THE MEL KIPER JR. 7ON7U NATIONAL TOURNAMENT SERIES Randleman, NC — (April 8, 2011) — Coach Shane Handy today announced that Randleman High School 7on7 Passing Tournament has been selected by Mel Kiper Jr. 7on7U to host the Mel Kiper Jr. 7on7U NC State Championship. The Guilford College Shootout will be NorthCarolina’s7on7U State Qualifying Tournament for the Mel Kiper Jr. 7on7U National Championship held inWashington, DC July 14th to the 16th. The Guilford College Shootout has joined Mel Kiper, Jr.7on7U National Tournament Series Network to expand the opportunities for participants tocompete beyond the regional level and move on to a National Passing and LinemenChampionship. Teams from all over the U.S. will compete for a grand prize donation of $10,000 to their school or club and the title of Mel Kiper Jr. 7on7U National Champion. “The Guilford College Shootout tournament will be one of the most competitive and organized7on7 events in the country and Coach Shane Handy is a coach who has a proven track record as a winner. Coach Handy’s innate ability in developing high energy and team-oriented programs that make teams better during the off season is well known throughout the state. We’re excited to associate our program with such an accomplished High School coach,” Mel Kiper stated. “Seven-on-seven passing leagues are the fastest growing off-season sport in the U.S. “Parents and coaches want student-athletes to continue skills development throughout the year,” noted Kiper. “7on7U provides a true competition path all the way to a national championship that doesn’t compete with the standard football season.” The Mel Kiper Jr. 7on7U National Championship Series has tournaments in 24 States with an estimated 450 High School teams trying to reach the Mel Kiper Jr. 7on7U National Championship. ### About the Randleman High School Guilford College Shootout 7 on 7 Passing Tournament The Randleman High School Guilford College Shootout 7 on 7 passing tournament is a single elimination tournament in its 1st season.
