Default Texas Rangers - World Series 2 Yrs in a Row??

I really never thought I would have seen this as a possibility -- the Texas Rangers playing in the World Series 2 Years in a Row. Now, up 3 - 1 in the ALCS against the Detroit Tigers, it is a likely think. The Rangers have played great, with incredible performances from the bull pen and timely hitting and defense from the likes of Napoli, Murphy and of course Cruz. Mainstays Hamilton, Young and Beltre have been somewhat quiet and yet a team that I consider to be very deep finds a way.

Interested to hear from some of you .... I clearly recognize my bias and maybe it is overreaction, but it seems to me the media and sports world up to this point has completely overlooked the Rangers. Watching Fox, TBS and the MLB channel, the news is clearly dominated by ABTR - anyone but the Rangers. The Fox pregame crew before last nights game was still clearly dissing the Rangers and opining that Detroit had this thing. Is it just me -- anyone watching the playoffs without a particular dog in the hunt is welcome to give me an opinion. Maybe my self bias meter is off a touch.

Being a former Texas resident, I'm pulling for the Rangers. And anyone not from Texas or a fan of the Rangers, who's not a Ron Washington fan? He's the man and one of the best managers I've seen in years.

3-2......I don't really follow baseball until the playoffs.....I like Washington as the manager......just hope they don't "collapse"....just saw a special on ESPN about "historic collapses" in baseball.....but I guess you couldn't put the Rangers in this category since they went to the WS last season.

Well they did it; closing out the Tigers 15 - 5 in Game 6 of the ALCS. I am not sure I have ever seen anything like the 3rd inning last night when the Rangers came from behind to score 9 runs. World Series two years in a row ... unbelievable!!

I am an Orioles fan and I will be pulling for the Rangers. I think its great to see a story like Hamilton's and to see him cap it off with a ring would be the best story of the decade

That was a classic, will go down as one of the best if not the best World Series games of all time.

You got that right .... it was a complete choke and I am a huge Rangers fan. To get to the final strike of eliminating your opponent not once, but twice in the same game is just incomprehensible to me. That said, they still have been on a tremendous two year run and no one predicted they would return to the big game this year after losing Cliff Lee. On a side note, I am not one to blast athletes based on second and third hand accounts in tabloids, but after last weekend, I want CJ Wilson out of here completely. Most of the Rangers have been incredibly gracious and humble since the Series and have not avoided the public. At the Stars hockey game, several of us in a Company suite at the AAC were a couple of doors down from where of the several Rangers were enjoying the match. A co-worker on a bet went down (and yes crashed their suite) on a bet to see if she could get any to come to our place for some pics. I have to tell you Napoli was A+ .. he opened the door & invited her in. While she was old enough to be their mother (but looks much closer to their age), they were so gracious to her. She told them she was there on a bet, and Napoli agreed to go. Some others did but most at least spoke with her and took pics. As she and Napoli were about to head to our suite, she asked if CJ would go. Nap said most likely not but on her insistence he went to ask .... she got a resounding "get the f### out of here" ... apparently not only from Wilson but from his SI Sports model girlfriend too. I have always known he was a California airhead, but I only had rumors about how much of an assh#le he is --- now there is not doubt. After his pitching performance in the playoffs (both last year and this), I could care less about his return. The funny thing, from the comments and rolling of eyes, it appears his teammates don't think much of him either.

Trying to post a pic but I can't seem to get it sized right.
