Have you all looked at this Johnson Central team page on Maxpreps. They haven't had a losing record since 2004 and they love to run the ball. They are a 4A as well. I must make the change to Johnson Central 44 Hayesville 20.

Well to be fair their enrollment is right around 1,000 so if they were in North Carolina they would be a big 2A or a small 3A school. They are about the same size as Franklin. But yes, I've heard they are a quality team but I don't personally know a lot about them. I figure they will be kind of like Franklin based on their style of play. KY football isn't very good overall though, Swain beat Pikeville which is one of the best 1A teams in KY, like a rented mule. But with Johnson Central being a good 4A KY team I'm sure they will be a much much better team than Pikeville.

I got the news yesterday that besides #5 DeMarcus Hobson (who was going to be the 2nd WR to McKeon and the top return man) #33 Robbie Tompa who had won a starting spot at CB (very impressive considering both Murphy's starting CB's were back) is also done for the year with a torn ACL.
Oh and by the way those two just happened to be 2 of the 4 fastest players on Murphy's team [furious] ... New scoreline prediction: Franklin 31 - Murphy 17 Last edited by SMC Observer; 08-17-2012 at 02:39 PM. |

I still like Murphy in a close one . Its simple Franklin is gonna put everyone they have at the line of scrimmage and dare Murphy to throw . If we can't move the ball on the ground it will be a long night , if we can get anything through the air it will be a bonus . Franklin isn't flashy or fancy they just play ball control old school smash mouth football .
I can't help but think Franklin losing 20+ seniors and it being the first game of the season they will need some time to gell . Regardless of losing Hobson and Tompa I like our chances . Time will tell , kickoff in a little over 2 hrs good luck to all the SMC .

OK, so what a way to start the season going 3-3 in SMC play, and 5-1 in the WHC, I really blew it on the Mitchell game! And i completely forgot to pick Robbinsville!
