After we beat Avery, your fans will be really worried about playing us, that goes for the whole WHC. Avery will be like a deer in front of head lights, when they play us. We have a very good chance to have another special season, also some of the juniors are steeping up. We are solid at every position, not saying we are going to win conference but I like our chances. But you also had other players open that night, Heritage is very good at running the ball, but you have never ran a true spread offense. Our program is flexible we can have a running attack, like the last couple season, look at our 2006,2007 teams we ran a true spread. Our coaching staff knows how to put the kids in positions to be successful, that's what all good coaching staff do.

Mitchell WILL NOT be as strong as last year. I can almost promise you that. They lose to much. Heck, I have family who play ball for Mitchell and there telling me there not going to be that good. Why would our opinion change if you beat a young Avery team that is picked to finish up in the middle of the WHC? No offense to any Avery fans. Why not open up with Swain? Oh that's right, Mitchell plays cupcakes to make themselves look good. Last year your non conference games consisted of Cherokee, Mcdowell, and Brevard! None of those teams had a record above 500 and you barley escaped Mcdowell or Brevard. Only beat them by 2 points. If Mitchell is going to be so strong, why not schedule a Swain or Murphy and test yourself? Heritage opens up with Erwin or North Buncombe. Erwin always has a good team and NB up until the past couple years had a really strong program when Pressley was there. But I guess your just going to tell me I know nothing about football and give me some lame excuse....I for one, would not be one bit surprised if Avery hands it to Mitchell this year. They'll be wanting a little bit of revenge. First game was ugly last year, but the 2nd game was interesting.

scheduleing avery for a secound game in a season was probably a money move. i know cloudland and hampton used to play each other twice and hampton now plays johnson county twice. a secound game against a big rival that is that close to you gives both teams a home game and a very good gate. does anyone know if this will continue after this season? i think this year is the 2nd year of two year scheduleing agreements. i heard avery is going to start playing hampton in 2013 i think during week 5 but both avery and mitchell may need to replace thomas jefferson on the schedule.

Buck, love to see us drop Avery and Brevard and play Cloudland and Hampton. Our program is just so much better then Avery. Those Tennessee schools love football and it would be a good atmosphere.

Thats idiotic...That is like saying just because NC State has had a talent drop off their no longer rivals with Carolina....If Mitchell is so much better then why dont they test themsves with Swain, Murphy etc etc...? no disrespect we play 4a Mcdowell and Brevard. i really would not want to drive to murphy, we do need to keep the avery game brings in money. Brevard use to be a power house but have fell off the in recent years and your right about Mcdowell. They are a 4A but have been horrible for a long time now. I hear their on the rise though. Have some good talent that is actually going to play. I think the Mitchell team with Joe Hoilman and Jordan Jones would have beaten last years Mitchell team. You are delusional..Heritage might very well get beat by Erwin, but at least there going to test themselves and see where they stand, which is a really good idea if you ask me. You say Mitchell will have another successful season? Success is a very broad term. Im just going to assume you actually believe Mitchell will when the WHC since that is how you think. To me, a successful Mitchell season this year, would be for them to finish up around .500.

Over the week-end I was in Burnsville at a local restaurant with my family, the walls had all kinds of Heritage gear hanging. My son ask me why were they so much MH gear in the restaurant, before I could answer his question, he said they think they are the NewYork Giants, we all got a big laugh. Wonder after this season, will the Heritage fans still be around. You had a good season in 08, then in 09 everyone jump on the Heritage bandwagon.

The JV team was a good team until Coach Jones came into the picture. A coach can't pick who he likes better to play in games and who he doesn't. To win you have to put the good players in and play them in the best positions, that we didn't do this past season. I believe Russell will do a better job in positioning the boys for the varsity team.

Mitchell county has always been about politics, would give anything to see that change.

I totally agree purpleman, I would love to see the politics go away from the sports. Play the kids that have gave 110 percent at practice or more. Play that kid that works hard and not just because someone on the coaching staff knows the family or is kin to the family. Was told by a coach that the boys are looking great. Some of the juniors are actually look much improved. Thats what hard work does, does not hurt to have a weight program like we do. Lots of competition this season, everyone whats to start. All the other teams think we will be down this season lol. Almost feel sorry for Avery when they get of the bus in Ledger, thats when the whole WHC finds out how good we are. Coaches will be up all night trying to figure out ways to stop us. Was fortunate enough to attend a workout yesterday, could not believe how big some of our players are now, thats what a good weight program does. We have a good chance to have another fabulous season in Ledger. If the players keep working hard, and listen to Russell instructions watch out! The only teams I have in concerns with are Owen and H-ville, the rest we should take care of business. Avery will find out in a few weeks, that everything that I am saying is the truth. Love it!!

watch mountain heritage jv play avery last year, very impressed with the skill players. The heritage jv qb reminds me of justin hughes, but a lot better passer. Didn't go to the Mitchell, Heritage game, to much rain. The problem for Mitchell this year is the skill spots.

Purple, we will be just fine in that department. Look for Parkins to have a sensational season, also some of the other guys look great. We are ahead of schedule, we are ready for another run. Also been hearing good things out of Marshall, this is the Patriots chance to make some noise.

Everyone from Yancey county thinks we will be down, its very funny to here that when I know different. After we beat the Vikings, repeat WE WILL BEAT THEM. The secret will be out, we will crush them,just like last season. Parkins will have a special year very impressed with him, really work hard in the off season. Also Ryan will have a solid season, glad we got him couple more years, he will just get better and better, This is a special group of kids we have, love all of them.
