What are some of the strangest penalties, or crazy situations you've been involved in during your officiating careers?

Could be a crazy call, a bad call to end a game, or just something odd or on wired side.

I can think of one crazy event that happend in a game I coached that FBRef was involved in.

I once had a JV team called for delay of game 3 times during a game. All 3 times were during a kickoff.

That's pretty stupid there! Coach should have been fired

This did not happen to me.

However, a friend of mine's Dad officiated out of the Fayetteville area in the 80's. He was working a game that was "out of hand" to say the least. Score was around 48 - 0 at the half. As halftime was ending, they began to look for the visiting team, the team being beaten, and they could not be found. At that time my friend's Dad looks up to see the visitor's pulling out of the parking lot in the bus. Apparently they had enough!!!

I said, what did you do? He said, we went home, game over.
