Default Texas Gov. Rick Perry says N.C. BBQ is worse than road kill

And to think I was considering him as a Presidential hopeful. I might have to reconsider my opinion of him. Since I've lived in both N.C. and Texas, I have to say that I prefer the Carolina Que instead of the Texas Beef Briskets.

And let me tell you something, when I was eating BBQ in Dallas waiting for my flight to LA this summer, I decided to try "Texas BBQ". It was DISGUSTING! I ate one bite, threw it away and went and got food somewhere else.

Having experienced both ... I like them both, but there is no comparison. Good Carolina Pork BBQ and good Texas beef bbq are entirely different. I like them both. BTW .... eating bbq at DFW is not the way to sample good Texas bbq, same goes for what they serve at Charlotte Douglas. You have to try the likes of Angelos in Fort Worth, Kreuz Market in Lockhart, the original Hard 8 in Stephenville ....

All BBQ is good, some is better than others. I have had Texas BBQ and I like it, especially with sausage and BBQ beef ribs. Awfully good with a real cold beer! AggieDad is right, airport BBQ is probably like eating a Mcrib sandwich. You are not even comparing an apple to an orange. To get real Texas BBQ, you need to go to a joint that has so much grease build up on the walls to a pressure washer with soap and steam will not remove it.

In all seriousness, if I thought he wasn't the best candidate, I would still vote for him just because he doesn't like a certain. I don't like mayo but that doesn't make me any less American.

Its just a lesson that in today's society, everything you say is being watched by someone and people will use your words against you at first opportunity.

Didn't say that. I am a Republican, but faced it, Little George left every thing in a horrible mess. Any one who followed him would have a difficult time, at best. The one presently residing at 1600 Penn. Ave. is in over his head, he just doesn't know it. Furthermore, the 535 idiots on the other end of Penn. Ave. do not have the sense to come in from the rain. Politics is a game of compromise and they each have an adjenda that has no room for compromise.

FYI: The idiot Senator from SC (Graham) thinks we should go to war with Pakistan. I must dig out my history books and go to Washington and give Sen. Graham a crash course in mid-East history & politics. This man really has a good grasp on current events. Best thing to do is cut off all of the dollars.

George W. Bush is one of the best presidents of this country has seen. You might now realize it now and it is easy looking back to jump on him, but no president in the history of this country had to deal with half of the crap that happened.

Most of which was caused by Clinton and the mess he made.

Bush was Bush, but he was not a bad president, just had bad circumstances happen to him.

I read the news where "Our President" says: The republican agenda would cripple America.

Geez .... I don't know what planet he has decended from, but I think the country is already crippled economically and he has been a major player. Congress has the LOWEST approval of ANY past congresses (both sides of the isle). Change we can all believe in ain't working too well at my houshold ... that's for sure.

I might be the only Democrat on this site...that's okay.

All the Presidents in my life (I'm 40) were much better than I ever could be at leading this country. I've disagreed with every President, but I truly respect each and everyone of them.

Perry's comment is a non-issue with me. I've never had any bad bbq in NC, except one time I went to "Red, White and Blue" where they served Memphis style BBQ. That stuff wasn't any good. Maybe Perry went to the same restaurant....

I am so disalusioned with the whole political process that it makes me want to puke. Wr have a weak President along with a Congress that can't agree when it is time to make a trip to the head. They all need to re-take political science 101, they might learn something, although they are so caught up in themselves they would miss the main points of the course. Kick every damned one of them out and start from scratch, it can't get any worse.
