Default Wallace v Red Springs Kick Off

At some point in the game Friday, November 18th between Wallace-Rose Hill and Red Springs, Wallace kicked the ball off, a Red Springs player tried to pick the ball up and it touched his hand, and was knocked into the endzone when a Wallace player tried to pick the ball up. The ball was then recovered in the endzone be a Wallace player. Is this a touchback as called, or a touchdown like it would be in college and the NFL?

It is a touchback, because ball was never possesed. Rule is diffirant in High school as opposed to NFL and college

Also since the ball was never posessed before it reaches end zone it is an automatic touchback. Once it reaches endzone it becomes dead.

But if Wallace was to have recovered it on the one they would have the ball because it is a live ball once it crosses the 10 yard mark on after being kicked.

10 yard mark has nothing to do with it reaching the end zone. If Wallace would have recovered ball before it reached endzone then it would have bee WRH ball but once a kickoff breaks plane of goal line it becomes dead.

Ahh I understand now, I was under the assumption that because it was a kick off it is a live ball no matter what. I understand now.
