If Murphy finds a way to stop Davis they win by 14. If not it will be a heck of a game.

Murphy will have their hands full. A lot of people have compared this N Stanly team to the 2011 and 2012 Albemarle teams, those Albemarle teams were more talented than Murphy (especially the 2011 Albemarle team) but the 'Dogs found a way to win. I think in the case of the 2011 Murphy team especially they were more hungry for a win (and a title) than Albemarle was, of course it didn't hurt that Murphy had the best individual player on the field in Seth Curtis, leading them.

Talent wise this Murphy team is definitely better than the 2011 and 2012 Murphy teams, so I think from a talent perspective this game is a wash. But does this Murphy team have the hunger those 2011 and 2012 'Dogs teams had? I'm not so sure, I guess we'll find out Friday.

This could be a very good game as Murphy has the tradition and another good team, while North Stanly is the upstart who has not had that much success over the years. Lots of good football players for both teams, and I'm not sure Murphy has faced a team with the speed North has. It will very interesting to see how North responds in a big game. If the game were in Murphy I would go with them for sure, but North should have a fired up crowd which will offer them a lot support. I think this one is to close to call.

North Stanly has some very good players, Davis is very , very good and the DT #52 recently received an offer from Alabama. I think the overall edge goes to Murphy though as they have been in these type games many, many times before. Murphy in a shoot out 35-28.

Alabama? Wow!! Do they have any other big time prospects with offers like this?

#52 is the sophomore?  Are they playing him hand down or standing?  I would think he would be the type of player they would move around some.

Murphy has indeed been in some big time games, but these are still kids we're talking about. Murphy is accustomed to playing the "big" playoff games in front of their home crowd. It will definitely be interesting to see how the players react being in an environment that favors the other team.

Their leading tackler is committed to NC State, but as a long snapper.

The DT is a big-time four-star prospect, though.

He is listed as a junior on maxpreps. I have not  seen him play this year since we changed conferences , but in the past he was a total menace as long as his motor was high.  ( which was about half the time) He evidently has gotten into better shape and is producing at a higher rate . I believe as a freshman he played linebacker , but at 6'3 300 , I assume he is at defensive tackle. He always moved incredibly well for his size.

He played ILB when they played WM. Assuming he's still there.

Sounds more and more like this one has the potential to be a good one. Home field advantage vs big game experience. Hope it is as good a game as it sounds like it has the potential to be.

Since I am within 20 minutes of North Stanly this is my game of choice. As I always sit on the visitor side I am very curious how many Murphy fans will make that 5 hour drive?

It is very unusual seeing Murphy play someone with a heartbeat in the 2nd rd of the playoffs. Sounds like a good game.

Yep, but it's not unusual to see Erwin practicing basketball by the 2nd round.
