Tremendous accomplishment and it's an honor to be situated in the record books among some of the finest players in N.C. High School Football history.

Looks like Trey may have scored the single game NCHSAA record. 52 points. Previous record was 50.

My opinion Trey is the best player ever at Heritage.

Alot of different ways to look at it. At MH would probably be Trey, Casey Randolph or King Pin Fender. Also have to consider guys like Adam Shuford with the most tackles in school history. But the best football player may be determined by success at the college level. All great players and different skill sets. Also some good players in the schools earlier years but never really had the line and depth to get far in the playoffs. Also playing 3A for a good period of time was tough on our school in football.

Mitchell produced it's best player when we were 3a. John Phillips. 2x all acc 1st team, 2x all American 1st team, acc defensive player of the year, and voted clemson's all-time best lineman.

The thing about back then was you could have a team that tied for conference championship and not go to playoffs

Very true but back then Heritage did not have to worry about it that often. Hate to say that but its true.

Joey has done an unbelievable job. The way the community bought into his philosophy is very special. Travis has done same thing at Mitchell should be fun for years to come

The team that went to the state championship game was certainly a more balanced team. They passed more down field and utilized more weapons, but this team because of trey has a will to win that's contagious. His heart changes the whole complexion of games. He drags good dbs and linebackers out of just pure guts and determination. He will be sorely missed by heritage

Without question, he is the most competitive and hardest working kid to ever put on a Heritage uniform.

Updated as of the Hendersonville Part 2.  Can anyone think of a kid more deserving of player of the year for the state?

Yes all updated except for the Vincent Neclos WNC single season record.  If anybody with a vote reads these forums please consider this kid for 2-A player of the year, I bet Reidsville coaches/fans would agree

I would vote for him fwiw..Saw an interview with coach Jimmy Teague (Reidsville) and he stated that he told Trey after the game that he was a "warrior"....pretty apt description....good luck to him in the future...................

He is the player of the year. He means more to his team than any other team I know of. His numbers are very impressive as well. If the state doesn't see that then there blind.
