Is that the team Andrews thumped a few weeks ago ? 46-0 I think ? If so, a few athletes some decent size other than that it looks like a playground game. For 5 plays in a row they lined up 5 different way without changing the defensive call. I can't believe they beat hayesville. I may have the teams mixed up, if the team Andrews ripped beat hayesville the jackets are in for a long year. I'm not being disrespectful to Andrews , I've said several times they are a team you better not sleep on.

The wildcats are from S.C.

The Gladiators are out of the Asheville area.

Thanks for the clarification, I was afraid Mitchell would be getting on us for our schedule this year. LOL. I know for sure that Heritage had a tough time filling a schedule this year.

I talked to coach Pittman and also coach Robinson before the season started and they both told me that some teams didn't want to play Mitchell or Heritage anymore because they didn't like the little schools beating the carp out of them. Yea Mitchell's schedule is not the best, but you play who you play. Mitchell and Heritage has beat 4a, 3a and 2a schools the past few years and sometimes by a big margin. Guess it don't look good for the bigger schools to show a lost to a 1a or a small 2a school. The past few years Mitchell and Heritage have done really well representing our little counties and I for one am glad to see it. For a long time the schools got no credit for their football or any other sport. Both of the teams are showing others that there is Football somewhere else than Bumcombe county and beyond. Good luck to both of our local teams. These young guys make us proud.

It's not by choice. At least the Wildcats enter Friday coming off a win against a SMC team.

Well put Mitchell1984. We all poke some fun at each other, but I just enjoy high school football mainly. Great kids in all of the programs and fans as well.

Titanman, would you say McDowell vs Mitchell is McDowell's biggest gate?

It has been up there the past 15 years but with Freedom back on the schedule I would say it will become the biggest gate again.

Freedom vs McDowell used to be a big rivalry back in the day didn't it?
