Feel bad for the Rutherford County 2A teams...pretty tough to have the #1 and #2 ranked 2A teams in the same conference. My guess is that there may be only one playoff spot available for the other four teams...think it would come down to East Rutherfordton and East Gaston.

While I agree there is a probable gap between the presumed top two teams in Shelby and South Point and third place East Rutherford, I think the gap could be smaller than you think.

I'm not trying to claim East Rutherford will shock the world and beat either Shelby or SP, but I think they're much better than anyone thinks and those teams will at least know ER was there.

East Rutherford has always had great athletes and size as long as I can remember but they cant seem to put it all together on the field. They certainly look good coming off the bus...
