Wilkes Central and East Wilkes will battle it out for the top spot. North Wilkes will be strong also. West Wilkes will take a step back simply because the numbers lost from last years team. I think starmount will be a .500 team or slightly above. Ashe will be interesting to watch after losing Collin Ellis as I dont know a whole lot about what they bring up this year. Alleghany will begin a new era with a new coach. Elkin MIGHT win 1 game. My projected standings are

1. Wilkes Central

2. East Wilkes

3. North Wilkes

4. Starmount

5. West Wilkes

6. Alleghany

7. Ashe County

8. Elkin

As I said Central and East could easily flip. 4-7 is a coin flip also as all 4 of those teams could change spots very easy.

Wilkes Central has a rising freshman by the name of Jo Raye Morrison that is special. I'm not sure of the impact Jo Raye will have in 2017 but he's going to be big time, future D1 recruit.

Heard from a coach at north and he said their biggest comp will be east and central. But they should be in the thick of things.

Nowhere to go but up for Starmount. I did here from a reliable source that their cupboard is still a little bare.
- Simply stated.
