Not right. This assures Murphy will stay small for years to come. Good job.

This proposal was passed to make the small 1a bracket stronger. With Robbinsville, Murphy,  Mitchell, Mountain Island and probably Mount Airy in the Bracket this will be pretty strong.

Let me assure you this was not done for the benefit of Murphy.

Your bracket is off Mountie, you have Lakewood small 1A, their ADM was 544 last year. Mount Airy (513) would go small before Lakewood or South Stanly (518). Princeton (526) and Union (542) would go small before Lakewood as well.

Where's East Bladen, Gates County and KIPP Pride in the east? all 3 of those teams should be in your bracket.

How does a 2 win Starmount team make the playoffs ahead of several 3 win teams?

My adm info must be off. I had mount airy @ 540 and Lakewood @ 519.. your brackets look good observer.

One question, does the NCHSAA split east/West first or big/small? Cause it makes a difference.

Thanks, I cross checked the ADMS at Carolina Preps and Simmons Ratings and both have Lakewood at 544 and Mount Airy at 513.

I made a mistake though, East Bladen is still going to be 2A. For some reason I was thinking they would be moving down to 1A, I've corrected it, it pushes Granville Central back east and I've reinserted Cherryville back into the playoffs.

There were only two 3 win teams that made it in: Avery and Cheryville. Obviously had two different 3 win teams (Chatham Central, Rocky Mount Prep, Rosewood, etc.) made it in it could've definitely changed some things.

We played alot of Chatham Centrals and didn't see the door til we got to Chapel Hill. But credit goes to the coaching staff and the players. A stronger conference would help us over the hump for sure.

You know, I don't get along with most of the WM fans here, but it would be good to see them get a ship before the consolidation.

530 is much higher than it's been the last ten years.

If it happens it will be this year. I see the consolidation bringing one no doubt about it. WM and EM have been top of conference for years. They will compete right away

Hey SMC, like it but with Edenton dropping down to 1-A and joining the conference with Plymouth, even if the Aces are 1-AA and the Vikings are 1-A, if I understand the seeding process correctly, they wouldn't both get #1 seeds or am I not understanding the new setup? One would be the conference champ and the other a runner up. Right?

How does North Rowan and West Montgomery both get a #1 seed from the same conference? I'm not sure I understand the new format.

Warriorlife moving to 3A or 2AA won't bring Montgomery County a title. Also, EM isn't bringing that much to the table for football. Maybe European Football. Sure they'll have two or three players that could contribute. McKinney is a once in a generation player and poor kid won't sniff the playoffs this year if he stays at East. West Montgomery High School will have the next three years to reel one in. The talent is there for a hell of a run. Still wondering about the coach that flat out QUIT after taking the job. His loss and we are a HELL of a lot better off than we would have been. Couldn't have asked for a better coach, mentor and community leader than the man we have guiding the program now.

I just disagree on the title talk. Alot of talent in this county and yes most from West side but with a few EM kids I feel like it makes for a very competitive 3A program.

North Rowan and West Montgomery both get a #1 seed because those records and seedings are based on their teams and conference affiliation last year had they been 1AA. There's absolutely no projections about 2017 included in those brackets, all based on 2016 records and standings.
