The head coaching position in Asheboro is open now due to Owen George stepping down today.  I had a long conversation earlier this week with him and fully understand his reasons.  He says spending more time with family is more important than football, which I totally agree and respect, and he's got professional ambitions as well which include grad school and potentially going into administration.

This will be a very interesting hire, I don't know what way that they'll go but there are three very solid and capable assistants on staff to include both coordinators as well as the running backs coach.

I could also vision several good coaches from around the state to look.  Since tweeting this out, I've already received multiple text messages asking my thoughts.

George posted a 35-16 in his four seasons leading the Blue Comets.

That means 4 of the 7 High Schools in Randolph county will have new football coaches next fall.

2 of those 4 made it to at least the 2nd round of playoffs.

I would say 3A Asheboro would be better financially.

Oh and "local" newspaper WILL cover them more also.

This by far the best job in Randolph County. Crazy that the best two jobs in Randolph County are both looking for new leadership. Asheboro and Eastern Randolph followed by Randleman have to be the best jobs in the county.
