Hey Chris, What are you hearing as far as Coaches interested in Wheatmore. I heard they have over 25 already. Names and good matches?

I've had a few coaches send me text messages asking my thoughts. I'm not sure who will apply but I think it's a good job.

Think this job will fill pretty quickly. Could be a good job for a bright young coach.

Luke Barnes was one of my first thoughts.

Also David Hines from SE Guilford and Marlon Morris from Eastern Randolph.

All three great coaches, not sure Weeks is coming out of retirement from coaching, and not sure about Trivett either although I don't really know him very well.

There are some other good candidates that have contacted me that nobody knows, even one current college assistant.

I think Trivett would be a good one. He did a really nice job at Trinity. I think he would be in a better situation at Wheatmore than at Central Davidson, as their football program has fell on hardtimes before he got there.

Wheatmore has some young talent coming up...  they need a good offensive mind if possible.

Hey Chris I hear that Wheatmore and East Davidson have several of the same candidates on their list. Any updates on both schools and who would be a better fit for which school. Both good jobs.

Chris I have to ask because I cannot find on internet.

Is this the same Norman Weeks who graduated from Southwestern Randolph HS in 1981?

I know you said Trinity native above.

The age is right.

Not stalking. Just remember playing baseball against that Norman Weeks.

There was a Coach Weeks at Trinity back in the late 90s and early 2000s.  I think it's the same guy because Gillespie was there at the same time and he is at Page now.  Weeks was the baseball coach at Trinity I believe, so it might be him.  I think he is a Trinity guy though, so...

Mark Raynor was mentioned above.  I remember Mark as a lineman on one of those good Trinity teams back in the Kelly/Gillespie days.  I don't remember which coach he played for, but those were some pretty good teams.  I remember John McKeachen, Brett Andrews and that big O-line.  The defense was salty too.  Anyone remember those teams?  It would be good to see another coach from that era show up like Brett Andrews did at Trinity.  Good for the community.

I have heard they are interviewing six people during spring break. Luke Barns, David Haynes, A coach from ER, a coach from southern guilford and the other two I have an idea but not enough info to post. The man I wanted as a wheatmore FB alumni and a big supporter of the athletics did not get a call.

Coach Tyson,

I can confirm those names, It looks like the top six for this job is going to be Luke Barnes, David Hayes, Kevin Six, Micheal McCullough(not sure), Phillip Yarbrough and the sixth person I can not find out. That being said something about each candidate. Luke Barnes was the OC at Wheatmore for a year but because of the lack of production it was stripped away from him. David Hayes is the OC at East Gatson and JV Head Coach on varsity they were 3-7 and on JV 1-7. Kevin SIx is at Eastern Randolph and I have heard wonderful things about him. I don't know much about the McCullough guy, except he didn't get the Southern Head Job. Phillip Yarbrough, is the Head wrestling coach at Wheatmore, which is a great program and he has done a great job with it, but here is what bothers me. Coach Yarbrough did not coach football this year because it took to much of his free time away, so why in the world he is being considered does not make much sense. That being said when he was on the coach staff at Wheatmore he did an excellent job with the JV Program, but he did not show up to any summer activities. That being said in a perfect world Sixx should be the front runner but looking at the candidates Wheatmore has chosen this is not going to be a Tim Kelly jr hire. This is a sub par group of candidates at best. Best of look to the Warriors and what looks to be the golden era of wheatmore football after the departure of Jason "Bear" Bradley to Southern Guilford.

Six would be an interesting choice. Ran offense on jv last few years. Imaginative play caller. He is also in ER rumor mill I believe.
