Right now the top teams in Forsyth County are East, West, Tabor, and Reagan.

If there was no open enrollment and students had to go to their home schools, the top teams in Forsyth would be....

1. Parkland

2. Reynolds

3. Tabor

4. Carver

5. North Forsyth

Throw them out of the league, they have an advantage!

Anyways, this is very telling seeing as Parkland and Reynolds as of late have been bottom feeders, Samek has done great work at Parkland though to get them out of the cellar and into the playoffs.

Do you think there'll ever come a day when open enrollment in WSFCS is abolished?

Maybe, here's another question. Would getting middle school football change things? In terms of the haves or have nots?

I doubt it.  If you ever walked into Parkland or Carver then walked into a school like Reagan or West Forsyth you would see why.  The kids at Parkland or Carver are able to get the same opportunities that the kids at West and Reagan get by open enrollment.  Its a lot bigger than just Football.

Get opportunities to recruit them away. Coaches probably do that too, but I'd assume kids have friends at other schools and try to recruit them away

Well obviously you want to NOT break the rules and recruit kids but it is becoming prevalent that kids recruit other kids.

It's open enrollment. They recruit. Plain and simple.

Well seeing as I work there and haven't seen anyone transfer in for the next school year I'd love to know where you get that information. I wish we did honestly. There's a few kids at some south Charlotte HS' I'd love to get.

Please though offer a list of players who have transferred to Catholic from other HS' to play football. I'll be waiting:)

Mount Tabor has begun calling out for interviews which should begin next week.  I won't divulge names but at least one is a very strong current head coach in NC.

Tabor has very good talent. Someone can continue winning there right away

I hear some names from the two most populated areas in the state. Veteran from Charlotte and a proven winner from the Raliegh area. Both are head scratchers to me as to why they would leave....

Interviews are Thursday at the central office. My inside sources say 10 are getting interviewed.

Yes there are two big names that you're alluding too. Also a prominent head coach from Southeastern NC and a Forsyth Co head coach.

A few young coordinators too, one from Forsyth and one from Eastern NC.

A few others mixed in as well. It should be interesting.

A panel of seven interviewed the candidates yesterday at the WSFCS central office.  The panel included the principal, assistant principals, AD's, the county AD, and former Mount Tabor coach Bob Sapp.  Initially there were 11 to be interviewed but a couple of prominent head coaches withdrew.

They have narrowed the field down to three finalist which will be interviewed on April 18th.  All of the three finalist are from Forsyth County, one is a current head coach, one is a very prominent former head coach with a recent state title, and the other is the interim coach on staff.

What's the info?  For a school like Mount Tabor this position has been open for a long time.  Do you know what is taking so long?

Several involved sources have stated that Mount Tabor will promote current interim Tiesuan Brown as their next head football coach.  While I don't know him personally, I've heard nothing but good things about him from the local coaches in Forsyth County.  I certainly wish him the best.

Hope it works out for coach Brown. He is the brother of new North Meck coach Morman. Quite the football family.
