Just out of curiosity-- why did the State allow teams to be able to drop so many games from their record? Seems like a good way to get unbalanced/unfair brackets potentially

Just like in football, when there is an endowment game the NCHSAA gets a cut of the gate. So they want to encourage teams to play more games without the penalty that losing such a game might have in playoff seeding.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

You can drop 4 games-down to a 20 game schedule-for seeding purposes.

In my opinion your entire record should count, all holiday tournaments, conference games and conference tournaments. It all should count. It shouldn't matter who gets the profits from a particular game as to whether you can count it or not!!!!

I also feel the West should play the west first and all regions play each other only in the first rounds. That way you have a true representation of that particular region. Most states do not mix regions like we do until later rounds.

The reason that they have the West play the Midwest and the East play the Mideast is because of how many times they had teams from the same conference playing in the first round of the playoffs in the past, lots of people were complaining about how that wasn't interesting or fun.
