According to the Winston paper WS Prep's hired their new HC in De'Ron Middleton; a player at Parkland under their glory days with Bell and DB coach at North Forsyth. He's only 30 and already on the staff at Prep as a PE coach so he won't have much of an adjustment period. He beat out 15 other applicants.

Near the end of the article he got optimistic and put on his best Joe Namath face. Some of the highlights:

-Said he knows more about the kids than any of the previous coaches due to his age.
Did say he and Scales were friends though.

-Predicted he'd have more depth than Scales did in his last year. Said he wants at least 35 on varsity.

-The real kicker: Prediected they would beat MA and East Surry. "These are the teams we will beat, and these are the teams we have to beat."

He's spared no expense in trying to already build hype for the program in a crowded conference of two powerhouses and an improving South Stokes squad. Going to be an intresting reign for Middleton.

Curious to see how many upperclassmen WSP adds to their roster next season especially from North Forsyth.
