Tonight North buncombe slipped by enka, reynolds beat Asheville and erwin defeated Roberson meaning all the higher seeds advanced setting up some interesting games wednesday night.

North Buncombe vs Erwin- Split during the regular season, should be a nail biter

McDowell vs Reynolds- The titans own a 2-0 advantage over the rockets but both games were some of the closest mcdowell played all conference season. Look for another good one.

In the girls bracket...

Erwin vs McDowell- The titans have been improving as the season progresses and will look to pull off the upset against the top seeded warriors

North Buncombe vs Roberson- Roberson has fell apart some late and North has a shot at the upset

Erwin's girls have made improvement as the season progressed and they are currently ranked 23rd in 3A girls. What do you think they might do come playoff time? High school OT has them in this bracket:

(1MW, 1) Hickory Ridge (18-0)
(16W, 31) North Buncombe (8-9)

(8W, 14) Hickory (14-4)
(9MW, 18) Weddington (13-5)

(5MW, 11) Jesse Carson (15-3)
(12W, 24) North Henderson (11-8)

(4W, 7) Erwin (16-2)
(13MW, 25) Jay M. Robinson (9-7)

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

I think they could make some noise but doubt they win more than 2 games. They have some quick guards and bailey down low is about 6'0. The MAC overall is weak though and I have a feeling McDowell may give them a real battle

Erwin beat McDowell by only 6 in a tight game.. disappointing season for the titans but the future looks bright with an u defeated jv team and lots of young players on varsity.

Erwin upset North Buncombe after 44 points from CJ Thompson who has been on a tear recently.. 144 points his last 4 games.. McDowell will have their work cut out for them trying to slow him down but they have a huge size advantage and 6'7 post Dillingham should have a good game like his previous 2 for the titans in the MAC Championship tomorrow night,

McDowell wins MAC tourney over Erwin. Divese Carson for the titans played well down the stretch and finished with close to 30 points. CJ Thompson for Erwin had about 30 himself but was held in check in the 4th. The titans will sirely get a top 3 seed in 4A playoffs. Final score was 91-81.

Erwin easily beat Roberson for the girls title and will be a tough out in the playoffs.
