Spend more time with family. And also, the new conference they are going to be in, is enough to make even the best coach gain a few extra gray hairs.

Any names for this job or front runners? Internal or outside person, close to SC so might lure someone from across the line!

Very tough league 2017-2021.... 4th or 5th place team could make a deep playoff run- Catholic, Weddington, Marvin Ridge, Monroe, Cuthbertson, SV, Parkwood, Piedmont. Hate to be a coach in that league be you can't avoid them all or any of them!

I cannot see a tougher 3 A conference in the State than this one. Top to bottom it has the potential to be brutal. The only saving grace is that MR and Weddington have the possibility of being a little down from normal due to heavy talent losses, but they will still be very good.

Monroe will always roll in with better athletes than most schools and SV with Sam at QB can beat anyone in the league.

Then their is the elephant in the room. The juggenaut known as Charlotte Catholic. The conference title will definitely run through Cougar Country.

Cuthbertson has been a handful lately and Parkwood and Piedmont have had their shining moments the past couple years as well. All out weekly warfare in this conference. I predict that the 3A or 3AA champion will emerge from this group in 2018.

I understand the family but stepping down because a conference is too hard is not the best look. Hope that he wasn't afraid of a little competition. So I don't think and really don't hope that it was a factor in his stepping down.

Parkwood and Piedmont will battle it out for last place in 2017 I think.

This job has been open since January 7.  Why hasn't it been filled?
