Seems like with just 75 schools (roughly) apiece in the 1A and 4A classifications, the 4A and 4AA brackets will have a similar resemblance to the 1A and 1AA brackets, as you'll have a bunch of two and three win teams in them as well as the random one-win team (or two or three). What would the 2016 playoffs could have looked like if the 2017-21 realignment info was used? I'm sure 3AA would be loaded with Dudley and Cape Fear and others dropping from 4A.

4A/4AA playoffs using the 2017 realignment

I'm still thinking three classifications instead of four with the 'A' and 'AA' brackets. Might eliminate those split conferences. There would be a huge discrepancy between the top and bottom attendance figures in each classification, but maybe you wouldn't have any five team conferences which Guilford County is having to deal with.
