I would go with Knute Rockne. Whats it matter....18 months later you will be looking for a new one.

Metzger would be a steal. Take away from Pinecrest and seriously upgrade Richmond. Not sure Byus would go there at this point in his career. Why would Will Clark go there after the treatment he got at Crest? Ain't no better at Richmond. Brand and Flowers, NO. Anyway, I'm sure they will find somebody good and run him out soon too. Things just aren't the same in RC. Not the same traditional power they used to be and may never get back there. Before Castellano, they ran out the best coach they could have had.

Aaron Brand
Maurice Flowers
Pete Gilchrist
Mike Byus
Will Clark
Chris Metzger
Ben Hammer
Bryan Till

You can take Gilchrist off that list.  He doesn't own a UHAUL!!!  Maurice Flowers, who they should have hired the last time.  He can handle the politics and can coach.

I was in favor of Flowers the last time. Flowers is one hell of a coach, and has paid for his past transgressions. I know playing against his team in high school was one of the most physical games that I have ever played in. Long ride back to Rockingham, and I felt every bump along 74.

What is the over/under on the number of pages this thread will grow before a new coach is named?

For that matter,, do we think the new coach will be named in July or August??

Some people think the new HC has been selected. May not need a search committee.

Looks like Richmond would be set to have a really good season next year. Players have been in the system a few years.

Hopefully the new system doesn't deviate too far from what they've grown accustomed to. I'm really interested in what the plan for the defense is going to be.

Seems like a lot of high school head football coaches are not staying as long whenever they step into a job for various reasons ... Who knows what high school football coaching position will open up next or who will land a job where?  Let the chips fall where they may ...

He was forced out.

Do you think hiring from within is the best option?

When there's a head coaching vacancy at any level, the more surprising that the opening occurred it seems, the less surprising it really is.  This opening may be a shock to some, but it really isn't.

From an experience standpoint hiring from within last time would've made more sense than hiring from within now.
