Scotland losing their QB, WR and a Safety. We return everyone else including Smiley, Zamir and both OL and DL. We have a pretty good QB stepping in next year who can actually spin it.

We'll definitely be back in the hunt next year!

Being loaded has never stopped Scotland from losing playoff games they are favored to win though :) we'll just have to wait and see if 2017 is the year.

Scotland has no QB and no passing game, and loses half of their rushing attack from this year...I wouldn't exactly call that loaded. But I'm totally good with pencilling them in for 4A anyway. Much like with Mallard Creek, they almost need to be there by default when compared to everyone else.

I believe that Cape Fear's QB is a senior and they looked a little bit like a one man gang tonight. Does New Bern get the ship righted in 2017? Britt? Hillside drops to 3A, right? Who else is a possibility?

Both backs will be back next year for Scotland.

Page will be very good again next year. Lose Leake, jones, Deberry and polite but we have a ton coming back and some super athletes that will be sophomores and juniors. Don't sleep on Page in 4aa

If you promise that Page will stop falling a sleep in the Championship games. How does a program come out that flat, after the beat down they took the previous year? They should have played angry.

Scotland will have 6 starters back on offense and 7 on defense. You could say 7 on offense because #4 played a lot and he should be on the field with that being said you still have to play the game. Wish them the best in 2017

Yeah, that changes things. They'll still need to develop a passing game for the playoffs, but it does sound like they'll be the early frontrunners in 4A for sure, given what they return.

Leake, Jones and Polite were about 80% of Page's offense this season. Those are no small losses.

Thanks, lockray. That was pointed out a couple of times, and I updated my projection above based off of the correct info.

I think Scotland is pre-season top 5 (if not top 2) and the early front runner in 4A for sure.

Will Vance be 4AA though? With all the teams dropping to 3A Id think they would be solid 4A next year

Vance loses Ifedi and Hall, who accounted for about 5,500 yds of total offense or so. Probably 90% of Vance's offense this year.

And the Vance defense already stinks without factoring in losses.

Gotta see how the lines r drawn plus a lot of transfers or (supposed) to come in. But the whole defense is back plus both running backs and Williams our TE. So the gas may not be as premium this yr but we should b solid. Hard 2 replace all area hall and ifedi tho

Hickory Ridge returns almost all of their WR's, all of their RB's, and several key pieces on defense. HR's biggest issue will be replacing their entire DL and most of their OL, two places where they lose a ton of talent.

If your line is an issue get ready for a tough year in the SW4A.

That's to be expected. From what I do know is that the HR coaching staff is top-notch, I'm sure they'll find a way to compete up front.

Where is Hickory Ridge??

Harrisburg, so right near UNCC. To me they fit more in MC's conference than SW4A.

That's what happens when you name a school after a road instead of the town/direction, people constantly ask parents/coaches/teachers where it is, haha. Should have been named Harrisburg all along.

But I agree, "luckily" for us we got put in the SW4A instead of the new/old I-Meck. With Mooresville and Lake Norman moving to that conference I guess it made more sense for us to be the one moved into the SW4A.

Keep on a close eye on Hickory Ridge who will join the 4A next year. The bulls are very physical team. They are losing key players however the Bulls have the foundation to make noise next year at the 4A

Hickory Ridge will beat Garinger next year.  And will finish 2nd to last in the league.
