MHS thanks and I gotta feeling your Bulldogs are gonna get another title today but I'm definitely pulling for Plymouth to get the upset. Just think your Dogs are gonna be too tough unfortunately.

I gotta comment on all these ppl that think WRH is worried or scared about being 2A next year. You obviously don't know our traditions and heritage. First of all 2A is nothing new to us, we were 2A up until 2001. Don't forget our 1st state championship was in 2A in 1994 against perinial power and defending 93 state champs Linolnton. And this was before the split A & AA playoffs. We won the 1982 Dist II championship as 2A.
Oh, all that was 20-30 years at you say? Well let's FF to our 1A years (2001-2016). Pull up our schedules. Very seldom do you find a 1A team on our nonconference. Our pre conf. schedule over those last 16 seasons have consisted of teams like 4A Laney and New Hanover, 2A powers Clinton, E.Duplin and S.Columbus. 3A S.Brunswick and S.Wayne. 1AA powers J.Kenan and SW Onslow. Out of those 16 seasons we finished the non conference schedules with winning records every year but one (2008). The only 1 (single)A team they scheduled in that span was 2 years against Jones Sr. The last 4 seasons we've been in a split 2A/1A conference along side Clinton and E. Bladen. We were outright conferece champs 2 of those four seasons.
Next year, we open our schedule with 3A power Havelok and reenter the old East Central 2A conference that we were with for so many years.
Bottom line, 2A is not new to us, yes the playoffs will be more competitive but win or lose WRH fears or backs down from NO ONE. We'vs own big games against fierce competition and lost the same. But our DOGS will line up and play anyone that's scheduled to play em. No matter if the odds are stacked against em or not. Give them W.Montgomery, Shelby, Havlok, Mallard Creek or Pittsburgh Steelers the odds may stack against them but they will not fear or back down no matter how bad their getting beat. So this 2A upgrade is nothing new with us, our program was reared out of the strong East Central 2A conference back years ago.

Are the crybaby announcers on W.Montgomery radio station really saying "the 2A Bulldogs are beating up on the 1A Warriors"?????  LOL  how many teams smaller than them did W.Montgomery rack up all them stats on this season??????  Give me a break!  We don't cry in the east!

WOW,   Everyone calls us 2A even when we had 560 or 570 people.  The will be going back to 2A and they will not cry about it.They started making their name in 2A and many of the opponents in the area will be familiar.  They prepare ourselves by playing 3A, 4A, and top 2A opponents during the non-conference.  Heck they were put in a Split conference with Clinton and East Bladen.  They split with Clinton over the last 4 years and was 3-2 v them the last 5 years. They were 3-1 v East Bladen over the last 4 years, 3-2 v South Columbus, 3-1 v East Duplin and they Scrimmage 4A Hoggard in the Jamboree and more than held their own.  They defeated 4A Laney in each of the last 2 seasons.  They even went to Cambell university to a high scrimmage where they were the only 1A team their and physically punished the two 3A/4A They competed against.   Even in their loss to Clinton this year, they did not roll over.  They made a game of it late in the 4th and their starting center was out.   All of this made them better.   Last night they started a kid (#85) that missed the 1st 6 ballgames after being run over by a car.  All of this represents good old school Duplin county toughness.

Hats off to the dogs.   To West Montgomerey, They paid their dues just like you guys and faced several disappointments.  Use that to motivate you to return even stronger.   TA Mclendon and his Albemarle Bulldogs, Quan Warley and the Thomasville Bulldogs,  were WRH's  growing pains.

Great Season and I can't wait til next season.

WRH will complete and win at the 2a level. Maybe not as dominant as they have been at the 1aa level, but they WILL compete for state titles.
