Thanks a lot T-Town...your Vikings are gonna be among the favorites in the East next year along with JK and most likely East Carteret. Y'all definitely have the defense to go deep in the playoffs again. Personally I think Tarboro would have also beat West Montgomery last night because of the defense y'all have. Very hard to run the ball against either team. I haven't seen the full stats but I don't think WM had more than 100 yards rushing. West had some very good players and their interior defense was stout but we could get to the outside on them for the most part.

Congratulations WM Warriors on a great season. You guys have nothing to feel bad about. After hearing a lot about ya'll over the year's it was an honor to actually see the team in person. Met some fans from WM on the way in and out of the game, very nice ppl. Good ole country folk just like us in Duplin co. Great sportsmanship on both sides. I can't recall a single unsportsman penalty from either side. Hope everyone had a safe trip home.
And last but not least HOW BOUT THEM DOGS! Congratulations on a 3 peat sweep! I was a part of the team in 1994 who brought home the very first SHIP and I th our "WOW", we finally did it. I look back on the 09 &10 season and remember saying Back to Back, I can't believe it.But I never in a million year's thought I would ever see my DOGS win 3 in a row! Way to Go!

Wallace was also the State Runner up in Track and Field in 2005.,  Add that to your tag

Thanks cappdog. I didn't know that, I haven't ever been a follower of track and field, but I'll add it as I got to go in and add last night's win anyway.

I offered my congrats. What did you expect us to say before the game? We got no chance? Heck our poor radio guys were even being ridiculed on here by a staffer. What would you like us to say?

I would like for you to say. West Montgomery is just not good. It showed on the biggest stage. Reading posts from your bloggers people would think. You guys were a dynasty and in all you were nomore than a punching bag, sparing partner, An extra in Hollywood production. Hats off to you guys maybe the school merger will help assemble a quality team. That doesn't mirror the modern day Cleveland browns. But again congratulations on be runner up. Hey its not that bad at #2 huh?

Yes,  Shone Carr and Tomeka Peterson (2000 and 2001 Sprint Champions), Terrell Hayes (2002 T-Jump Champ), JT Carr(2004 and 2005 Sprints), and Chris Miller (2010 and2011 shot put).

The real thing to think about is that a large number of our football players are on the track team and have been for the last 30 years or so. Quite a few have competed at the state meet.  Track is like running camp for the football guys that don't play baseball.  Javonte Williams can surely stand as an example of how it pays off.

It does not hurt that the Track Coaches are all Football coaches.  LOL

I think it was JT Carr who smoked TA McClendon in the state track meet when he was a Fr or Soph and TA was a Senior.

Javonte was a little beast when he played 9-10 yr old rec ball. I knew back then he was gonna be a stand out. Solid player built for football that you can play pretty much anywhere on the field!

This is true!!!!  But the other claim is true also.   JT was a freshman and he finished 3rd in that race.  He ran passed TA in the 4X100 Relay.  He would go on to become our offensive Player of the game in the first Thomasville lost as a senior and he would complete become back to back 100m champion that spring and added the 200m also.  He did not play football his freshman year.  His big brother Shone was back to back 200m champ and 400m champ.  He convinced mom to let him play football and he was very good at that too.

I did some quick research and JT finished 7th his freshman year in the 100 and 6th in the 200m as a freshman and his group of 3 freshman and a sophmore won the silver in the 4x200.
