Many names have been mention with a lot of fan fare. Does anyone have all time records of these prospects that have been head coaches? Sometimes but not always the proof is in the pudding...

Expected nothin less from you Chris. You and your staff do a great job for high school athletics in this state.

I don't know if Freedom can get some of the names mentioned above, but I would like to see Tom Harper back on the sidelines for Freedom. Also, Tom Eanes did a great job with Patton this year. Good luck to Freedom in their search. It will be interesting to watch this hire play out.

Sorry to blow this thread up but just thought of Nick Eddins. He needs to be mentioned.

Eddins certainly would be a good choice.

Brint Russell - East Rutherford Asst
Will Clark - Crest
Mike Byus - East Lincoln
Matt Beam - Newton-Conover
Allen Whittenburg - Hickory
Chad Grier - Davidson Day
Jason Lippard - NE Guilford
Scott Young - Statesville Asst

No. You know as well as I do that baggage, rumor and the other things that follow coaches rarely gets in the way of getting better jobs. Its all about the interview. He has a good record and that means more to some AD's than developing players.

Well there is a sucker born every minute Paul.

I shudder to think what Tuscola looks like had his plan to scrap the JV team in 2013 came to fruition.  We would probably have the roster size of a 1A school now.

i do think some of those names freedom will contact and i have a feeling the coach will be named by Feb.

I personally want someone will stay a good while and build his program. We got a good group of young talent and a kid who is going to be a rising sophmore who i feel has a chance to be special.

Just thought of JK Adkins-who is also a Freedom Alum. He's probably pretty settled at East Wilkes, but might be a possibility.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

No reason for Eddins to leave West Montgomery for Freedom. Would expect his next job will be at a big school state power.

I really doubt he would come back to Burke County.

Allen ends up back at North Buncombe as an assistant. That makes no sense.

I guess he went back to NB where the expectations are low.  NB just needs an influx of talent.  One or two good players isn't going to cut it over the length of a season.

Obviously, this was his decision but do we really have to demoralize another program?

My intention was not to demoralize anyone or any program. If what I said is demoralizing, then they have bigger issues.   What I said in my previous post is the unvarnished truth.  I think everyone in that district knows just that.  I know several families from that district and they will tell you the same thing.  The program is full of good hard working folks who, I am sure love NB, but they are a ways behind most programs in WNC.

I can't really say that I would be disappointed if that is true, but I would still prefer Joe Glass.
