Lol Mitchell is not the same team y'all saw at Andrews. I will be VERY surprised if either team wins by 14+
I also watched the Mitchell/Andrews game. That was over 12 weeks ago. I am positive Mitchell and Murphy are both playing at different levels than 12 weeks ago. I believe that was around the time Murphy just got hammered by Franklin 42-7. I look for a good game, giving the edge to the Dogs. I also wonder what kind of crowd Murphy will have with the temps being in the 20's at kickoff. Great crowd and atmosphere for the MIC game. Would be great to see that again this Friday.

I think Mitchell will bring a large crowd I just think Mitchell has a bigger heart and more want to. I think the Mounties by 14 because they will come in swinging and with Murphy probably down a back if Mitchell takes care of 76 on the D Line I think they can run the ball.

I have to be honest I knew nothing about Mitchell other than you guys have a really great football team. I watched a video on YouTube of your state championship game from last year and it looks like you guys run alot of the same things we do on offense. It was like watching us familiar sets and plays. Should be exciting to say the least.
It should look familiar because we actually pretty much run Murphy's offense, that's who we got the blueprint from. Much like yall you will see a lot of the little double handoffs and such, only difference is you will see Mitchell attempt a few more intermediate and deep throws than Murphy, whereas Murphy will stay with a little safer shorter throws, the run plays will pretty much look exactly the same on both sides. Should make things a lot easier on the defensive coaches this week as it will be like going against their own offenses in practice this year. Another connection between the 2 schools is that our head coach's wife is actually a Murphy alumni if I'm not mistaken. I remember a lot of my buddies coming down there to watch Avery play Murphy in maybe the 3rd round of the playoffs probably close to 10 years ago now when Avery first became a 1a team, seems like it was a real barn burner that Murphy pulled out. As far as I can remember that is the only local team that has came to Murphy in the playoffs, that was a good Avery team with Josh Johnson at wide receiver that went on to win a national championship at Appalachian State, think he set a state record that year for receiving yards in a season.

About half and half. We spend about as much time in shotgun maybe more than in the Wing T. It all depends on what is working more. We may run out of the gun and throw off of play action in the Wing T. Or vice versa, our team has been good at taking what the D gives us.
Murphy lines up under center. Mitchell goes gun.
Example Friday night MIC made an adjustment and took away the edge in the second half against the gun. So Murphy adjusted and Curry killed them running up the middle off the fake handoff. They adjusted and shored up the middle we went back to the edge for huge chunks again.
