Not sure what you meant to say but Swain and Cherokee appear to be the cream of the SMC crop

Freedom swept Hickory, boys and girls, last night. Pats take on E. Burke on Thursday and McDowell Friday heading into the Christmas tournament next week.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

There will be a couple of good games over at Northwest Guilford tonight.  Page takes on North Rowan at 6:30.  The nightcap is NW Guilford taking on Middle Creek at 8:00.

Middle Creek's a good ballclub.  They don't have much size but they're gritty and physical.  They straight took it to North Rowan last night.

It's going to be a great point guard matchup with Middle Creek's Shammond Hicks taking on NW's Jalen Spicer. Substance vs. Style.

Big time game today between Northwest Guilford and North Surry. Both teams come in undefeated. Should be a good one.

That was shaping up to be a good one before the North Surry meltdown in the first half.  Northwest killed them in transition.  What really helped NW was that they could put good defenders (Spicer/Turner) on both Hawks/Phillips.  That slowed the Greyhound dynamic duo down a little.

I will say I was a bit surprised with the play of Carter Phillips.  I didn't realize he was that good.  He's come a long way in the last couple of years.

I still think North Surry can make a pretty good run come February.  Northwest is just a stout veteran team with so many weapons. The Greyhounds will "Live by Hawks/Phillips....Die by Hawks/Phillips."

I'm really starting to get intrigued by Greene Central in 2A.  Undefeated and have a good, good 6-7 sophomore in Imajee Dodd.

Sophomores Jakari Dula and Fletcher Abee combined for 64 points (Dula 38, Abee 26) as Freedom downed previously unbeaten McDowell 87-80 in Morganton Friday afternoon, avenging their only loss this year.

The Lady Pats also won, 58-29, as both teams improve to 6-1 heading into next weeks Christmas tournament.

I was at the game and impressed by Freedoms outside shooting. They are a little thin in the paint and Im hoping for a rematch in the Finals on the Christmas tourney

True, true.  However, they don't have Shaun Walker Jr.  this time around.
